We absolutely loved this museum - especially the linkage to India and Punjab as this house was donated to the people of Thetford by the son of Maharaja Dileep Singh. His life itself is fascinating and worthy of an entire museum so those enthusiastic about his story will find lots to love here.
The museum also has rooms of nostalgia for past eras of local history and a current exhibition of Vikings.

Lovely little place (max 1 hour visit) - great for all ages. Our 6 year old had a ball and won a prize for a trail. Clean loos, lovely staff.

Top tip: go for the last hour of the day and it's only £2

Ancient house museum is one of the best examples of an early Tudor town house in England. Learn about Boudicca's link to the town as well as the Celts, Romans and the Vikings. Free parking is close by.

Small Museum but lots of history about the building, it's change of use over the years and the people living in the building. Great way to spend an hour or so, especially on wet afternoon.

small museum, but both the historic building and exhibits are interesting. The viking exhibition was very informative and well presented.
