A beautiful church beside the Minister and worth the time to visit. The family church of Guy Fawkes, his being baptised there .
The guides are helpful and friendly.
Nice stain glass windows.

Having just missed the 11.00 service at York Minster we went right next door and were warmly welcomed with the sounds of not just stinging but an amazing group of musicians, warm tones,
harmony and prayers, an oasis in the middle of the Shambles, the Market the hundreds of tourists that swarmed around the shopping centre, the peace and quiet calm the aroma of candles and incense made St Michael Le Belfrey a very reassuring religious experience,
Michael and Moya on a world tour of Yorkshire. 25/26 March 23

Great lively service on Sunday evening - we need more churches yo embrace the revivalist fervour along with the classical services so that the different styles of worship are provided for. Everyone can feel respected and valued here.

Only a visitor at present, but still a church where the Holy Spirit is present. I became a Christian in 1980 through a Gospel tract written by David Watson, who led the fellowship at St. Michael's. Looking forwards to the completion of the refurbishment due to start later this year.

We were walking past this church after dinner and heard rock music and singing, so we looked through the open doors. The congregation was singing an upbeat religious song.
A church warden saw us and invited us in for the last few minutes of the service.
The church was beautiful, the congration was enthusiastic, and singing along to the band who were great.
I'm not religious, but the genuine joy of the event made my heart smile.

Lovely church, friendly wardens and less crowded than the Minster. Holds a unique place on history too. The church was built entirely without interruption to construction. Guy Fawkes baptised here. Wonderful capsule of ecclesiastical history.

Very old church, free access, lots of info about the building.
Still an active church.

I love being a part of this church especially on a Wednesday… Every week we have a very short lunch hour service starting at 12.30 followed by a lovely lunch. Why not come along and join us. When you do, please come and say hello to me.
