St Peters Church, Rushbury is well worth a visit, there is limited parking in the main road, for times of service one is advised to check in advance. The main door is particularly heavy and impressive and the rich blue carpet significantly improves the ambiance when in the church. Enjoy the service or your walk about.

St Peter's Church in Rushbury, Shropshire, is an underwhelmingly plain church, despite its Saxon foundation and medieval construction.
The current structure was a 12th century rebuild of an earlier Saxon church on the site. Small sections of characteristic Saxon herringbone bond can be seen in the low to the ground on the north and south walls of the nave.
Inside the church is rather plain. The walls are uniform white plaster, the Victorian pews are simple and unadorned. The complicated roof timbers also appear to be a Victorian addition.
The chancel is slightly more decorated. The floor is marble, extending into encaustic tile in the sanctuary. The choir stalls in the chancel are more ornately carved and are likely older than the pews in the nave.
The windows are tall, narrow and deeply recessed, either 12th century or added later in a similar style.

Good bells and a lovely church which feels like it in the middle of nowhere
