On the edge of Russell square with its lovely café and open air dining, and good Hotels, a fifteen-minute walk to Oxford Street. Tavistock Square, about two hundred metres down the road going North towards Camden Town.
Russel Sq Station is just around the corner to the left walking South, opposite the lovely 1960s modernist Brunswick centre, proving that good Architecture and social housing can work well worth a visit.
Not forgetting Queen's Sq, adjacent to the East of Russell Sq, with its famous Hospitals, I am afraid this can be a very sad place as these hospitals cater for the very ill and dying, also Children, it is not an uncommon thing to see people sitting and weeping in the little park, and the grass is full of millions of cigarette ends.
On the upside, I believe the Mary ward centre is still situated there in its large Georgian building catering for adult education, especially the elderly, Jewellery making, computing classes, writing etc, with an excellent vegetarian café.
The picture I have added I took on July 05, 2018, at 3.48pm, the hottest day of a very hot summer the temperature reached nearly 40 C. The people at the stop are looking North, the stop itself has been cropped out for artistic purposes, I took the shot while pretending to be adjusting my camera. I think the tall African guy twigged. the colouring was drawn on my computer and Photoshopped into the image. Oh, and the guy leaning over the railings is looking down into the basement, people always ask me what he is doing, he has his shopping bags on the ground beside him. I hope you like it.
