We had a really great and memorable time in the Mazda Bongo, which we hired last minute for the May bank holiday weekend. Jenny and Tim were so friendly and helpful and made the whole experience very easy for us.
The bongo itself is a great little runner, drives well and is comfortable. The high top roof means the bongo is great for storage and we found we both slept well, despite one of us being 6ft - this wasn't an issue at all. Perfect for a few nights away and have definitely got the van life bug! Parking up for the night and enjoying a glass of wine and the views was a real treat !Thank you Jenny and Tim, will be in touch again soon!

We hired the van for Glastonbury this year. The van was perfect, drives perfect and is cheap on fuel!

Tim & Jenny were sooo helpful when we booked as I had multiple questions and they amended our booking last min so we could have the van a little earlier for the long drive!

The bed was comfy and the pop up roof was perfect so we had room to stand up & get changed.

We couldn't have asked for a better van or more helpful people!

This was my first time hiring a campervan. I am so pleased I hired through Carlisle Campers, as I found the whole experience straight forward, and it was a pleasure to meet Tim and Jenny who immediately put me at ease. I had wanted to do this for a while and decided on the VW T4 which had the high top, also hired the awning for added space and privacy. Everything that was needed was in the van, including outdoor table and chairs for 4 people. All that we needed to add was personal belongings, food and sleeping bags and we were set. Spent four days up Scotland, pre booked permits for two separate locations in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, scenery was stunning and waking up with the sound of the forest coming to life was magical. Was a great trip with breath taking views at every stop. Will definitely be hiring again and would highly recommend Carlisle Campers.

Me and my partner recently took a trip to scotland with carlisle campers. We had an absolutely great time. Jenny explained everything about the van before we set off and was really friendly the whole way through.
The campervan was in great condition and we had an amazing holiday! Will definitely be using carlisle campers again!

Excellent experience with Carlisle campers. We had a great holiday with this camper. One piece of advice is to bring a memory foam topper for added comfort

Me and my friend hired their Mazda Bongo for a week to travel around the Dumfries & Galloway coast paddle boarding. Jenny couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful, answering my many questions and letting me view the van in advance to check the storage space. She also let us book an early pick up and late drop off. We’ve hired a T5 before with a pop up roof but preferred the Bongo as it has a high roof with permanent storage space which we used to store our SUP bags when we weren’t boarding. The two beds were also pretty comfy and we took single fitted sheets to protect their mattresses. Our electric pump didn’t work in the cigarette lighter socket but it wasn’t a problem as we had an additional manual pump anyway. My experience is that the sockets in most vehicles aren’t powerful enough for these new electric pumps so even if they appear to work they end up blowing the fuse or melting the plug. Better to manually pump your SUP if you’re on the road so you don’t have to worry about it. The Bongo was a great vehicle for us and we would definitely consider hiring it again. We took a stand up tent with us this time for extra living space and overnight storage which also worked out well. We would definitely recommend Carlisle Campers to others.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolutely, incredibly awesome fun packed 3 night chilled trip away in Jenny and Tim’s delightfully easy to drive Mazda Bongo for my birthday! One adult, one adventure loving, ecstatic child and one pretty cute dog. Even better than we imagined!! Super comfortable, lovely and warm, very clean and in immaculate condition (which makes you want to take pride and keep it that way), fridge, stove, sink with water pump, leisure battery to charge your mobile/gadgets overnight too (what a dream ????), beds so easy to set up, plenty of storage space, privacy blinds if you wish to use them (we didn’t because we wanted to see the phenomenal sunsets and sunrises at Bamburgh’s coastline), easy to cook and wash up in with every essential right there in the van! Just bring your personal belongings, pillows and sleeping bags and you’re off. Such a thoughtful gesture of an added towel for the dog (with a little paw ???? on it ☺️) and some very tasty dog treats included! My little boys eyes lit up seeing them being the massive dog lover that he is ????. Jenny was very very lovely, so welcoming, reassuring, extremely positive and massively helpful from enquiry to the dreaded heart sinking moment of having to return the van key ????????. We didn’t meet Tim but he deals with all the mechanics of the vans so you can be assured you are in safe hands, and I have genuine faith that Jenny and Tim would be extremely approachable if any unforeseen issues arose whilst away. I was able to have a look at their other campervan which ALSO looks like a wanderlust lover’s dream! Two options...yesssss! Off-road parking for your own car if you wish. One night staying at Bundle Farm Campsite just outside Bamburgh (£15 to pick your pitch in the basic field overlooking the bay), one night overlooking Bamburgh beach itself as overnight restrictions have been lifted and the people we met were as respectful of the area as we were (???? jaw dropping views where you can sometimes spot pods of dolphins???? ) and one night more local to home in Dumfries and Galloway at one of our top secret favourite camping ⛺️ beauty spots beside the water with wild goats roaming. We had the added bonus of a breeze so the midges kept away! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, we are so grateful thank you and we will 100% be booking again in the future ????. Highly recommend for a definitely very fair and very reasonable cost so get booking for adventures you’ll carry with you a lifetime...and as a parent not much beats being able to share it with your little adorable family ❤️ xxx

Hired the Mazda Bongo from Jenny and Tim for a week in Scotland. The van was very easy to drive and great for moving around visiting a range of places.

It was well equipped with all the essentials - pans, utensils, chairs, a table, mattress toppers etc. We had no issue with storage for a week (and could have easily managed longer than a week!)

Would definitely recommend, and if we go again we'll be trying out the VW!
