An attractive stone bridge over the River Wharfe, erected in 18884 to replace an earlier bridge destroyed by flooding. The local car park is well-maintained, but expensive, so we parked on the roadside.

Pictures speak for themselves, pub cafes parking field with river flowing by so kids can paddle / boat , bbq area take a walk along the river and find hidden beauty

Easy parking at Burnsall Bridge plus car. Park and toilet. charge. Walk along the DALES WAY. A 1000 year footpath following the River Wharfe. I prefer walking up a mile to a Swing Bridge and returning on a country lane . Views of Burnsall impressive.

Perfect for kids. Enormous grassed car parking area right next to the river, 8 pounds to park for the day, well worth it.
You need the weather on your side though

The gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, Burnsall nestles in the Wharfe valley surrounded by Fells, Moors, hills, dry stone walls and ancient trees.

Fantastic little village in the Yorkshire Dales. Plenty of local walks and a great pub in the Red Lion. Get there early though gets very busy indeed.
