An absolutely amazing campsite with stunning and extensive forest walks, cycle routes and activities. Excellent rail links less than 5 minutes walk from site. One of the best railway cafes/restaurants I've ever been to with a fabulous selection of homemade cakes. Forest cafe ideal for families and large groups. Well maintained site, lovely staff, especially clair (without an 'e'), hot showers and a site shop. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Sadly I had a poor experience here. I was so looking forward to a couple of days in a forest campsite. However, I was allocated a dried out, narrow pitch in bright sunlight and with no shade and no privacy. Other pitches had trees and shade and hedges but mine felt more like a desert. I was recovering from a migraine and feeling very fragile, sick and overwhelmed by the light and heat. I explained this to staff and asked to be moved to a pitch with some shade but they were unable to offer me a different pitch, so I left.

(I was travelling back from Scotland and nowhere near home. NB CCC sites in Scotland are fantastic!)

I was told that I had ‘booked a narrow pitch’. In fact, I was ALLOCATED a narrow pitch and just because I have a small van it doesn’t mean I have to have the worst pitch. I didn’t feel the customer care was adequate.

Ask for a shaded pitch on your booking to avoid this!

Really enjoyed our week at this site. Ideal base for exploring the area. Train station next door allows you to get further without driving. Nice local pub.

Loverly little site been trying to book for ages. Always busy or full. Managed to get on for a couple of days to try out our new camper. Clean and tidy site friendly polite staff and clean and tidy facilities. The bonus is the site opens right on to the Forest and is also next to the Station Cafe and all the Forest Facilities. We liked it so much we are already planning to book again.

Great campsite. Only downside was the hardstanding. Stones very rough and rock pegs kept coming loose. Never had this before.

Situated in an advantageous location in the forest, this a decent site but it also unfortunately comes with some seriously rude staff. We felt unwelcome from the moment we arrived onsite. We heard from other arrivals that they felt the same. I wouldn't recommend visiting and I won't be going again.

Amazing site. Lots of space, clean shower block and an excellent location. Access to the forest from the site so perfect for the dogs.

Stayed at the campsite right next to the forest. Lovely walks, spacious pitches, great staff. You will enjoy it without doubt!
