Impressive structure and feat of engineering - the tunnel is one of several specially constructed green bridges in the UK, designed to conserve the habitat around Devil's Punchbowl from being severed by road development. There are several walks around the bridge, including on a public footbridge which itself is greened and offers views of the southern entrance. Driving through the tunnel is very modern and well-lit, though as with all major trunk roads will suffer congestion.

Longest under ground car tunnel in the country. Never thought I'd live to see the day it got built. Promised for years but always held up.

Great tunnel… you loose phone signal though, so if you’re waiting on hold to Lloyds for 40 minutes and hit the tunnel, get ready to be annoyed haha

Riding through here on the motorbike reminds me of playing track games. It is a cooler temperature in the tunnel. There are fans. No hard shoulder. It seems long. The view as you approach the tunnel is nice. There's warnings about the tunnel. No turning back. You just gotta make it out alive.

Actually a nice up beat kinda tunnel.. Was expecting it to be another boring dull tunnel to drive through, but upon exiting was kind of expecting a toll charge as felt like it went on forever.. But nope no toll charge..

As a frequent traveller through the tunnel, I must say that I agree with it being an amazing experience. Driving through an undisturbed landscape surely captures the abilities of engineering at its finest. Today, as I drove through there, was a beautiful mist over the blanketed forest of trees, quite amazing.

Though one complaint I might add is the gathering of water at the southbound entrance is super dangerous, it is around a quarter-mile from the entrance and it makes it very difficult to steer the car through due to the aqua planning experience, not good!

Please drive with caution!
