Incredible day! 8 year old grand daughter's first Munro & ascent up the Ptarmigan route. Absolutely stunning, so lucky to experience an inversion! Loved this hill, nice to manage a loop instead of there & back.
Definitely be doing more of Scotland's gorgeous hills in the years to come with these 2. The dogs first Munro too!
Fab day out. Only issue was loos not open when we set put at 8am. £5 coins or card for the day in the carpark.

wow what an amazing scenery ???? we walked ben lomond from the car park and midges were eating us alive at the start but after 30min into our hike they disappeared. after we were at the summit there was the question are we taking the normal way back or take the longer, steeper way down. we decided to take the longer route and wow even more incredible views. in total it took us 7hours. lots of car parks but make sure u arrive latest at 8am as it seems to get busy at that time. if you need the restroom, do you buisness at the car park restroom as there aren't any options along your hike. lots of dogs on our hike
we aren't hikers so we take our time. good foot wear is recommended

It was very pretty.
I really wish I had been able to make it to the top but I have health issues and I wasn't able, quite steep rock steps in some parts.
For a more healthy fit person (or me with more exercise and practice) this is a great day out.

Quite a challenging walk, steep rock steps in parts but the view is so worth it when you get to the top. We took 2hrs going up and 1hr 15 coming down. However I saw young children walking it in about 3hrs each way so achievable at your own pace.
Carpark fills up early in the morning and costs £5 for the day so bring change.

Quiet busy as we got to the top but we headed down the more steep and significantly quiet north side trail, which had breath taking views the whole way down, even on a cloudy day

Misty on the way up but a good ramble, however the sun came out on the return past Ptarmigan and then the beauty of the area shone bright. A great sneaky Friday off!

A great Munro that's accessible to many. Even those with lesser fitness levels would still manage at a slower pace. Very well maintained path all the way to the summit.
