A really peaceful, tranquil and well kept set of ruins. Lots of wildlife in evidence, especially birds. The tearoom is closed permanently, and there are no toilet facilities on-site. A lovely place for a picnic, or to while away a couple of hours, wandering at will. Entry is free, but there is an honesty box and also some well-produced guidebooks at the entrance to the abbey itself. Thoroughly recommended.

Extensive ruins of a huge Abbey. Privately owned so admission by honesty box,£5. Short walk through a field of sheep to reach the ruins, watch where you walk! Decent car park across the road, again an honesty box for £1. Mention of a tea room but didn't find it.

What a very interesting day. Still relying on an honesty box for entry, and for the guidebook, we paid, of course. It is very good at explaining what the various rooms would have been. Very well worth the visit, just a shame the tea room is no longer open.

Lovely little walk around the Abbey ruins. It wasn't the best of days weather wise, but I enjoyed the history of the place and the walk round.

Mid week visit before the school hols, very tranquil. Pick up the guide before you walk around, and it makes a lot more sense then.

Spectacular ruins of a 12th century abbey. One of many in the area. A great way to experience this abbey is to incorporate a visit into a circular walk in the surrounding countryside.

Although this is a peaceful and beautiful place to visit we felt rather disappointed to find that there are no toilets for visitors and the tea shop is permanently closed. Guide books are available to purchase but only one information board at the entrance to help visitors to attempt to visualise the Abbey in its hey day
