Went to the Tartan exhibition, which is truly spectacular. Quite a lot to take in, so we went twice over the weekend to spread out the event. I found they have a pair of trousers like ones I own in the exhibition, I confess mine were an exceedingly lucky charity shop bargain

We spent a wonderful few hours enjoying the tartan exhibition and the other displays. The cafe was very nice. We parked in the disabled section of Discovery parking , which is only 5 minutes walk away.and is free.
My only criticism is the disabled toilet was not very clean.

We went to an excellent exhibition on tartan. They had a great selection of exhibits, all informative and interesting labels. It wasn’t too crowded either. The temporary exhibition space is much larger than the permanent exhibition, so I wouldn’t recommend visiting unless the temporary exhibition is something you really want to see (though the permanent is still very interesting). The shop is also quite small. The restaurant is a canteen style service, with similar food to other museums/galleries (rolls, soups, baked goods, etc.). The gallery is a u003c5 mins walk from Dundee train station.

Fantastic building both inside and out. Not a lot of exhibits but well worth it. Make sure you go on the balcony outside for views of the Tay and Bridge. Follow up with a walk along the fabulous waterfront towards the port. While in Dundee, try to get hold of the Walking Trails of Public Art in Dundee. I've posted a couple of snaps of exhibits on the City Centre Trail.

Wonderful building and great atmosphere, Scottish design exhibitions are fascinating but wished there was more to see, the cafe is highly recommended with excellent food, great choice, fine views and pretty reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit, free entry to the standard exhibits.

Beautiful building, if you like modern architecture. But we’re are the exhibits? Just a tiny fraction of this colossus on the Tay is used for sparse Scottish design. More spaces is given to the Foundations, givers, benefactors, influencers etc than any exhibition…..But even those are odd including a mini exhibit of a kids cartoon mag….. quite disappointed.

Beautiful Museum with a lot of paintings. One good thing is the building design right inside the seashore. There is children painting sections and an extensive gallery for the display of art. Outside there is a big paid car park and many people walking around at the seashore. Inside the museum, you can buy crafts.
