Great local butchers, plenty of produce. Refurb is lovely, so much to choose from - meats, spicy sausages, burgers and preserves.

Very good quality meat and can't fault the service.
Like many retail outlets on Market Street, it's difficult to park nearby and the traffic is often horrendous - a pity they don't make it a one way system (part of the A30 already is one way) so we tend to use the butchers in Ilminster or South Petherton instead.
Update:
Visited again recently and having spotted two large rib-eye steaks in the window, asked for three approx 8 oz rib-eye steaks. Butcher said one was more like 12 oz but he'd only charge me for 8 oz.
When I came to cook the steaks at home I twigged what he'd done (due to social distancing I was standing just outside the door, on the street and the butcher had his back to me so I didn't see him weighing and packing the steaks) - he'd taken the two approx 12 oz steaks and cut one in half horizontally. This made two 'minute' steaks in effect plus one large steak and was definitely not what I wanted.
Changed review to one star from original three stars.

DONT SHOP HERE! Bought a chicken, it cost me £46 and with in 2 days it went off!
Went in and they refused to do anything, told me "Take me to court then". This is horrendous customer service and I'm left with a chicken that I had to chuck away!
Christmas ruined and nothing to compensate for it! Outrageous! Not even an apology!
£46 for fresh air!

Courts here I come!

This is one of those local businesses that go that extra mile to supply good quality food, if you enjoy a good steak lovely local lamb then this is definitely for you, I don't go anywhere else for meat or hams good quality bacon,cheeses home made burgers,sausages and to top it all friendly helpful staff.
