We love Thirsk at every time of the year. We always make an effort to visit twice. Fantastic selection of independent shops. Lovely community. Brilliant market and awesome tourist information centre. So much to do. If I can say. Avoid race days!

The market place has plenty of cafes to have a quick break for tea but it is taken up by the car park which detracts from the square and the centre as a whole. If you take the time to look at the back streets there are plenty of pretty terraced cottages and houses which are very picturesque. The local church is worth a visit and the guides there are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Lovely old, traditional Market Square with a nice selection of individual shops for food, gifts and clothing.

Nice little town. Useful parking in centre.
Plenty of independent shops. There are livestock auctions on Thursdays. Market days Monday and Saturday.

Free parking for an hour, generally somewhere to park, a bit of waiting at peak times.
There's a boots, CO-OP, Gregg's, Cafe Nero, a couple of coffee shops, chippy etc. It's ok for a pit stop.

Lovely market town market was on when I visited a Monday plenty of shops in walking distance lovely cafe outdoor takeaway at White horse theres other cafes and sandwich shops well worth a visit

Still a traditional market town experience, not the biggest, but always interesting. Some tasty local cheeses and naughty cakes this time. Don't miss them on Saturday and Wednesday ????.

Great little square for a rest break on a journey. Good little cafes and shops and services. Busy place.
