This is a beautiful pub, great location with nice views.

Had a beef roast, which was alright. It could have been warmer. The gravy had no taste. The beef wasn't great, but according to menu it was organic. We paid 22 GBP plus service charges.

Great place, great view, when we were there, a Friday lunch, the service was very slow. Frustratingly so. The food was good.

Attended for lunch with little one in pram. Staff were very accommodating of our request for a quiet table and understanding when some of our party were running late.

Drinks selection was excellent (wide variety of local beers which was a nice touch) and plenty of gin options as well.

The food was outstanding, everything everyone ate looked great, and all the elements (down to the chips and vegetables) were clearly cooked with care and tasted better for it.

Two courses with drinks and coffee was c. £38/head for us, not cheap but happily paid for what was an excellent lunch.

Dined here spontaneously on a Saturday evening. The portions are impeccably controlled and locally sourced, fresh ingredients, all impressively intuitive and wallet friendly. Their creation and exquisite delivery of the ‘Lamb chips’ will no doubt leave you all tempted to return for more. Especially beautiful & a romantic setting for Garden Dining at sunset, over the South Downs.

Visited the Sussex Ox today on a sunny wintery afternoon. Food was outstanding. I opted for the cranberry, apple and camembert sandwich. £11.50 for a 'bar snack' which if say was certainly a main meal sized portion. Was delicious. Fries nice and crunchy and a very fresh tasting side salad. Staff were lovely. Will be back soon (albeit covered in less mud next time!)

Great food, lovely staff and very reasonable prices.
We were two couples with a dog each - lurchers so not little - and we were all warmly welcomed.
We are not locals but if we went down again would not hesitate to go again
