Was one of the best to buy traditional Emirati dress and stuff but now one of expensive , nothing good or unique about it all standard and common (materiel) and SO SO expensive without a reason plus take alot of time to finish your dress .

The Roman Boathouse which is essentially a pavilion is located on the edge of the lake and great views of it can be had from the opposite side. You can also go up the steps to the rear of the boathouse and inside where the floor is highly decorated in stones.

Oh and this is a delight! Eye catching, attractive and has the most splendid pebble worked mosaic floor. A must see when visiting this Green Heritage Award winning park. The boathouse was restored in 1990 with sponsorship from Mobil Oil Co. Ltd.

Love the little boathouse & Swiss bridge around the lake. Take some peanuts & you will get surrounded by squirrels who will happily eat the nuts from your hand if you are still enough.

What a gem of a place to visit in the middle of Birkenhead Park. Situated at side of the lake it is a perfect vision of Victorian architecture. You can enter this boathouse from the rear and it gives you sweeping views of the lake. However I think the exterior view is better. If you bring along a bag of seed you can feed the pigeons, they even feed from your hands. A wonderful day, would recommend!

The dozen or so reprobates swearing like a bunch of old dockers did nothing to add to the ambience of what is a beautiful old building set in a picturesque backdrop of mature trees, verdant foliage and abundant wildlife. The kids did enjoy feeling the squirrels though...
