A great store with huge variety of new and used stock, meaning as it is local to me, it is always a joy to go for a browse. Matthew at Rails is also always very patient with me while I try and make my mind up! All the staff are very friendly and welcoming too - the perfect store for anyone in the hobby.

Went to Rails to part ex some items and buy some new point motors and CDU. Franklin was very helpful with this, and made the process simple. Explained and demonstrated things to me. Certainly would recommend the shop.

Finally got to visit the store when I visited the UK recently after buying on line for years. Always helpful staff and no problems with products that I have purchased. They no longer sell new Hornby products but the selection of rolling stock is still excellent.

I have used Rails of Sheffield several times throughout the last couple of years, primarily to purchase Games Workshop models and paint. The pricing is very good and the staff are always friendly. The best thing is the service. If they don't have something available they will add it to their website, order it and will even phone your work (without me giving the number, they must have googled it) to let me know they had received the stock.

Traded in two locos and replaced them with two new ones, Franklin and Cameron were extremely helpful and courteous. They demonstrated the Dapol track cleaner and i bought one of those also.

Rails of Sheffield always offer a very friendly service at reasonable prices. The shop has evolved over the years and currently has a showroom for locomotives and rolling stock and another for scenery and accessories. Add to this the excellent online service both through their website and their Ebay sales it really is the full package. My most recent experience was at their second open day of the year on the Saturday of the August Bank Holiday. To supplement the two showrooms they opened up their courtyard offering second hand rolling stock and buildings as well as model buses and planes at very cheap prices. Whatsmore I received I received a £10 voucher for every £100 I spend. Numerous manufacturers were on hand to showcase their latest products including DCC Concepts, Peco, Cavalex and RevolutioN Trains as well as YouTube influencers. If that wasn't enough there was free food and drink available. The whole team were a credit to Rails of Sheffield. Nothing was too much and they couldn't help enough. A great day out which also allowed fellow modellers to meet and chat over a cuppa and a Rails of Sheffield cupcake. I can't wait for the next open day and cannot recommend this enough.

It was a pleasure dealing with Rails of Sheffield who recently purchased my late husband’s model railway collection. Following an initial chat on the phone I then emailed them a comprehensive list of all the items for sale. They responded quickly with a very fair offer, which I accepted. They liaised with me re a convenient date for collection by courier and on receipt of the items contacted me and arranged payment via bank transfer. All communication, be it email or phone, was dealt with in a very friendly efficient manner.
