We're not from the area but still found the museum engaging. We attended as an educational trip and had a lovely time. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the question sheet we were given was fun.

I’m a local resident absolutely love this little gem of a museum and bring anyone who visits here to get a good rundown of Grimsby history. It’s a small and honestly quite a cramped space which is hidden underground in the former jail, but very fun and informative. You won’t be in there for more than an hour at most if you stop and read everything, but for £3.50 it’s an absolute bargain for all that you learn. The staff member on the desk was very enthusiastic and lovely and really made the experience.

Set within the town Hall and not all that obvious from the street this was fantastic value for money and well worth a visit. Really engaging displays and journey round the museum. Some narrow twisting stairs to traverse, but it all added too the atmosphere of the venue. Also, really friendly lady on reception ????.

A wonderful museum, lots of reading material and lots of intrleresting facts. At the reception we also got a questionnaire about the things we learn to be filled out as we go about the museum. Perfect for a rainy day family activity.

What a great find. Packed full of artefacts, history and models. Every corner and stair revealed a new surprise. Best attraction in Grimsby. Pity it is only open on weekdays.
