Yes, there are several mid-range Japanese Restaurants in Abu Dhabi, but I can say that Fresh Way is one of the best in terms of FOOD QUALITY and PRICE!
This restaurant is underrated and I honestly believe that they deserve to be on the spotlight!
They offer a wide variety of Japanese Food from Appetizers such as Tempuras, Kakiage, Calamari, to Miso Soups, and to Salads like Kani and Kaiso. They also have Teriyaki, Curry, Gyoza and Katsu Sets as Main Course. A Japanese restaurant also is incomplete without Bento Box, Ramen, Udon and Soba Noodles. How can I forget the Sushi, Rolls, Maki and Takoyaki. They also have Japanese Ice Cream, Japanese Green Tea and Iced Matcha Latte. You name it, they have it all!
While Fresh Way is a Japanese-themed restaurant, they also cater International Cuisine to satisfy the taste buds of their customers. They serve Filipino, Chinese, American and Korean Meals.
We ordered several items from the menu and these are the dishes that stood out -- Takoyaki, Japanese Miso Soup, Kani Salad and the Sushi and Sashimi Platter (24 pcs @ AED 69). The taste of these dishes are very Japanese. You can really feel that the ingredients used were fresh, and it was served hot. Considering its price, their delectable food really has a good value for money!
This restaurant is strongly recommended for small groups as they have amazing Group Deals. You can also get one California Roll for free if your group spends AED 250. They even have a Loyalty Card, which gives you a free meal worth AED75 for every 10 meals purchased.
The restaurant itself is not too spacious, however social distancing is strictly implemented as some tables are kept vacant. They also have attentive staff Ashab and Marilou. Their Chef (Edward) also checked on us a couple of times to see if food quality is okay and if we needed further assistance.
The location of the restaurant is very convenient and accessible. It is located along Al Salam Street, between Big Mart and Al Mashraf Bank. They also do delivery and they are also offering 10% discount every Mondays for those who are dining in. What a deal!
To sum it all up, our overall experience is excellent! Without any doubt, we will be back again soon! We hope to see more people visiting this hidden gem for them to also taste the true, authentic and 'Oishi' (delicious) Japanese Cuisine!
