We had a great night spending here with our family. The ambiance is good for you to chill. They have a very good services and live band while eating. Lastly, their foods are very tasty that will surely satisfied your cravings for Filipino Foods. ????????

Very good service, good menu … not overly extensive. Food was very good quality all around. They know how to prepare non Muslim foods.Prices were reasonable

A taste of Pinas to be proud of

I keep coming back to Kuya Juan everytime I crave Filipino food. Kuya Juan never disappoints with its staple Pinoy fare such as crispy pata, kare-kare, and pork sinigang. The talented singers who are always game for song requests add to the Kuya Juan’s homey ambience.

But I found another reason to keep coming back - the staff are professional, friendly, and honest. After a recent dinner with friends, I accidentally left my credit card and only realized it one day later. I came back and the crew who assisted us immediately returned my card. They told me that they wanted to return it earlier, but since they didn’t know how to locate me, they just kept my card for safekeeping.

Thank you and kudos to Kuya Juan and the crew!

A good place to chill on a weekend. Perfect combination of good food and a live band! The musicians are very talented and give me goosebumps!

If you are looking for a cozy place to enjoy Filipino food with a nightout-ish feels, this is the perfect place for you. ???? The food made me feel homey, and they even serve alcoholic drinks. There were live bands before and you can sing karaoke but it was stopped because of the Covid protocol. But the ambiance is the same. ????

My husband and I went to Kuya Juan on a Friday night. Despite not having a reservation, we were welcomed professionally by the staff. The food was awesome though the Dinuguan tasted different from the last time which was not so much of a big deal. The evening band was extremely good and the overall service was spot on.

Will return again soon!

Unfortunately disappointing food are low quality and it’s not fresh plus the fact it’s expensive. Just hoping they will improve the quality food ( pork and beef meat is low quality) and food is salty. The only food that I like is the fried milkfish even though it’s a small piece and the tofu with pork.

Walked in for dinner in a Monday night the place was great with a Great singer while you eat.The food is excellent, generous portions and great prices. The traditional Filipino food Pakbet was absolutely taste heavenly!The service was fast and friendly. I highly recommended it if you’re in the Corniche area.

Christie started working with my son in year 10 and has seen him through to his GCSEs. My son has needed a lot of extra support with English and it has been wonderful for him to have her guidance and support 1-1, which he did not receive in school. She sets homework to enhance learning and has offered online learning when my son was a little unwell. I cannot praise this lovely lady enough and it’s worth every penny to know your child is getting that individual support with someone who goes at their pace. Thankyou Chrissie

Three months ago my daughter admitted she was really struggling with her G.C.S.E English, admitting that her current private English tutor wasn't really helping her. She was getting increasingly stressed about her G.C.S.E which she was due to sit in June of this year. Following this admission and being aware that time was running out, I searched the internet and found Chrissie. And what a huge relief that has been.
It's just a shame we didn't find her sooner. Chrissie was so accommodating from the moment I first made contact with her, making sure she managed to fit my daughter into her busy schedule and for that I am so extremely grateful. Most importantly though, my daughter's confidence with her English grew in such a short space of time.
So if you are aware that your child needs extra guidance/support and clear understanding of what is expected in G.C.S.E English exam papers, then do not hesitate in contacting Chrissie.

Finally I support and agree with all the comments/reviews that have been written about Chrissie, she has been an amazing tutor. Thank you.

I am so glad we found Chrissie, she has helped my daughter in Year 11 to gain confidence in English and fully prepare her for her exams. I highly recommend Chrissie, she is a superb Tutor.

Our son wasn’t enjoying certain aspects of his school work and whilst we did our best to help as parents we took the decision to look for a specialist tutor to help support and further his learning.

We found Chrissie and our son began after school sessions once a week.

The improvements through the extra tuition my son has been having with Chrissie has been fantastic and she has really nurtured his development and growth with both his English and reading.

Chrissie provides a comfortable, relaxed and varied learning environment which he always looked forward to each week, throughly enjoying the sessions.

If you are looking for extra tuition for your child to compliment their education we highly recommend Chrissie’s services.

I was lucky enough to get two sessions at short notice with Chrissie! I had two students from Syria come to stay with me. As they are ESOL students I am glad I was able to find someone who could really help and encourage them to learn some more English. I had two tutors, and Chrissie was favoured by the boys and they would be over the moon to have her again. She is friendly, open and punctual. I am located in Lowestoft and was lucky enough that she was able to come to us. I would highly recommend Chrissie if you are looking for a tutor!

Chrissie has been an amazing support over the last 2 years for my 11 year old who has additional needs. She is patient and individually tailors each lesson to get the very best out of him. Not only has Chrissie made great progress with his literacy skills she has helped give him more confidence to use this skills in school. He looks forward to her weekly sessions, would recommend her 100%.

I couldn’t recommend Chrissie enough, she tutored my son for both GCSE English and English Literature, pulling his final grade up 2 places from his predicted grade.

Chrissie gave my son the confidence he needed to be able to achieve what he was actually capable of despite his struggles with dyslexia.

Chrissie taught him techniques and skills that he will be able to use into college and his future life. Having Chrissie as a tutor was the best decision we ever made
