Although the meat behind the counter looks great, I wouldn't advise ordering anything. Both times I have I opened the package that I've ordered, only to find brown, old meat. They were good about giving me a refund, but it doesn't make up for the fact that the special meal you were going to make was ruined. Also, in my opinion, all their pies and some of their sausages are way over-salted, to the point that I couldn't finish them and ended up drinking loads of water. Most of the meat behind the counter is good - albeit very expensive, so I have given them 3 stars for that.

I ordered a steak pie, sausages and bacon. The steak pie is the best ever, filled to the top and pastry excellent. Sauage and bacon top quality. They also deliver free locally to a selected day. You can order online. Have used for years but products have actually got better this time.

I have given these guys 5 star because the quality is so good. But has anyone else actually weighed a received product at home? I have received in past underweight. It is really not clear that the adopted 'average weight' rule is being followed. For an average you need overweights to compensate for underweights.

On holiday for 4 days in north berwick did review on Anderson's Black pudding omg pure class it is perfect seasoning and texture bought full roll of black pudding and full block of uncut square Lorne sausage they were terrific so thank you to the Heavy built butcher who served me on Saturday ( I'm ex butcher myself ) . And if anybody likes Lorne sausage especially black pudding buy the full thing ....Superb cheers guys. ho

Cannot recommend Anderson’s of North Berwick highly enough. In most butchers you need to be in the shop to pick the cuts you want. Not with Anderson’s. I order online only and my order is delivered to my door, within 2 days, for free, (no minimum order value) and everything I’ve ever ordered is top quality. I won’t go anywhere else, this is a top butcher.

Expertise and top quality product.
I had some lamb prepared with the in house harissa spices and the folks their were quite helpful in making the right selection for the dish I was keen to cook.
The best lamb I've ever had (even better than the top notch stuff I had when I lived in New Zealand and Wales)

Travel from Edinburgh each month to stock up from this butcher shop. Top quality. Would never buy from anywhere else for my butcher meat. Excellent range of gluton free products too.
