The public space that the canal is (with its outdoor gym equipments, benches, flowerbeds, trees, etc.) provides also the most convenient pedestrian connection to most of the other notable public spaces in the neighborhood, namely the Central Park (and Mosque), the periphery seawalk, and other smaller parks. As such, it is not only an interesting public space per se, but also an essential functional unit within the neighborhood.
The water is quite transparent to a point one questions how muhlch chemicals it has that makes it so devoid of life. It should sacrifice a bit of its cristal-clearness to nurture the local flora and fauna. (There isn't even a single patch of seaweed!)
There are accessible connections (ramps) bridging different level heights, making it accessible to wheelchair and baby charts.
