Super little museum, like a tardis full of fascinating local history, tales of Old, fossils, photographs and many other pieces of interesting local history. Very helpful friendly staff always willing to assist and share more information about this part of the Cotswolds. We found the part about ancient burial mounds including belas knapp very useful, however a spiritual prospective would be even more important as to understand the real meaning of these ancient areas rather than the scientific stance which often completely misses the point.

The museum really is a lovely place to go. You not only get to see the local history but also get to really imagine what things were like back in the day. They have an actual meteorite on display and some amazing other local exhibits. If you do the chance to go, please do. it won’t disappoint. The staff there are just amazing, always happy to chat and show you the exhibits. They also have a nice little gift shop as well. Would highly recommend.

Very much enjoyed our visit to Winchcombe Museum. One of the staff helpfully gave us an introduction to the various exhibit areas. It was special to see a piece of the famous 'Winchcombe Meteorite' and also to learn about some of the town's extensive history. From neolithic times (Belas Knap Long Barrow), to Saxon significance, to its place as the capital of Mercia, to destruction of its abbey during the Reformation, to tools, people, and records of criminal activity and punishment it provides a fascinating insight into the local area. Not a large museum but lovingly kept. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area with an interest in history.

Great place to visit, I've just moved to Winchcome, it was a good insight to this beautiful town. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I especially enjoyed the Meteorite section so interesting. Thank you all I will visit again at Easter.

Great local museum with a range of interesting artefacts relating to Winchcombe's history - plus a huge international collection of police memorabilia and uniforms spanning 80 years.

Really went to see Winchcombes meteorite. A nice lady gave me a talk which was kept to my level. Very interesting. My time was limited as I was catching the bus but lots of interesting stuff to see. No entry but donations accepted.

Free, local museumstuffedwith interesting objects all very well documented. And the staff seemed really pleased to see me.
