Such a beautiful hotel. The decor has an old charm, but makes the hotel so cozy. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, helpful whenever we had problems or questions.

We had a garden room which opened out onto the smaller pool and beach, and a lovely little outdoor space. The room was big and the bathroom suite was great. The facilities at the hotel were amazing, with a health club, souk and the Abra boat, which we did on our last night.

Food was great and plenty of seating inside and outside.

The location was amazing for us. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a 25 min drive from the centre, however there is a new leisure complex a few minutes walk away for amazing food, drinks and various leisure facilities. Great for families and couples wanting a quieter retreat!

Fabulous hotel, rooms and decoration really makes you feel you’re in Thailand. The room is not modern but it has a great vibe for who dislikes boring modern rooms of the nig chains!
The service is also great, very warm. Breakfasts fantastic, more than you can ever eat.

A really beautiful hotel even if in places it’s beginning to look a little tired. It’s in the opulent style that is typical of Shangri La with lots of timber and dark reds, and it feels very homely and welcoming. Bedrooms are lovely and spacious with a generous balcony. What makes this space really special is the location, opposite the Grand Mosque which is across the river. The beach and pool look towards it and as the hotel faces west, the sunsets are absolutely incredible. Service is a little lacking in some places such as the service around the second pool; also, when asking the buffet host if there were any vegan options before taking a table for dinner, his response was “well go and take a look and if you see something you can eat and you’d like a table, let me know”. But overall I spent a lovely couple of days here and would gladly return.

I use to visit regularly and the welcoming at the entrance was different and the lobby was smelling cigarettes. Regarding the Sofra buffet which was a disappointing and not like usual the food have changed most of the food was cold and smelly I requested rice to my table and it was heated in the microwave and tasted like nothing it was bad experience i use to come with my family and enjoy the food every while i use to have a gold membership but i wont be visiting again.

I had high expectations for Shangri-La Hotel, but the service was very disappointing. When I checked in, I asked to change the twin bed if possible. So we were reassigned twin beds. However, there were cigarette butts that someone had smoked on the ashtray in the room, and cigarette ash remained on the terrace. Besides, I couldn't open the refrigerator door. I called the reception and told them about this situation and they said they would come to the room to check, but they didn't come even after waiting for more than 20 minutes, so I went down and showed them the pictures. The employee called the manager suggested a room upgrade and tried to open the door by moving the luggage again, but the room key didn't work. I had to go to the reception again to get my room key, and this happened twice more.The staff explained that the room key was being renovated, but in that case it should have been notified to the customer at check-in. Such poor service in a 5-star hotel must be revised.
My family chose the Shangri-La Hotel for our birthday party this time, but
I don't think I would ever want to visit again.

Amazing stay, very friendly staff specially Jasmen. She was super friendly and gave us complimentary extra bed. Will sure come back again.
Breakfast was very nice and delicious. And they have buggies that can take you to the souq that is near the resort main reception.

It's not worth place for a non-alcoholic person. When we visited in 2022 Eid holidays it was poor staff service from reception and breakfast very poor with non fresh foods continuously 2 mornings, repetitively had kept same foods that are stale. More than half the beach area was closed

Didn’t stay here but only heard good things from peers to have.
Brunch was an amazing experience with so much selection of fresh and tasty food.
Quite rightly, our glasses were kept full by the attentive staff and were always nearby if you needed anything.
The restaurant and hotel is stunning and the entertainment was top-notch! Even the older members of our party couldn’t sit still, when the music began and after a few “beverages” down.
I’d love to stay at Shangri-La, next time I visit the Abu Dhabi as it is truly beautiful!
Nevertheless, couldn’t recommend the brunch more!
