So bad rate, dont exchange here, they have meny hidden fees plus very bad rate

If you exchange inside the city, you will get good rates,

They play with your mind by saying that same exchange rate guaranteed, but what about the tax and doubke service fees they charge.

Cheaters. Exchanged Indian rupees for Swiss Franc. They were quick to help and gave me the money. But the 20 franc they gave was expired currency. 3 year old currency that is not accepted in Switzerland. Beware of the cheaters.

Complete sham. Please don't go here. The sales man will try to make you understand that you won't get any better rates in the whole world but then rip you off. Avoid at any cost

Big scam!! I asked the exchange rate and he said 30 bath per euro. I accepted and gave him my 2480 Thai Baht and received 43 euro's. Exchange rate suddenly went up to 57 bath per euro. I made him undo the transaction. Never go here!

Horrible. Complete rip off - you are better off using the currency exchange next to it. You will get more from changing the same amount. Take this advice, go elsewhere.

We were given a room facing the back of the hotel, which is right next to a night club with an outdoor speaker that blasts EDM until 5 am. Our room was so hot, but it wasn’t warm enough outside for the air cooling to turn on, so we had to sleep with the window open to the blasting music & bellows of drunk people. Naturally, we hardly slept at all and there were no ear plugs in the room. Do not recommend. Nice morning staff though.

Free parking which is unusual these days. The rooms are small but all you need really. The pod washroom was good and the shower had plenty of space. The hot breakfast buffet was good and was constantly being topped up. All the staff were friendly and chatty

The rooms were clean, though admittedly dated and with a few bits missing (e.g., the ear plugs). Great location just a couple of minutes from the train station and the town centre. The staff were welcoming and the breakfast was good. All in all, everything was nice apart from the main reason you get a hotel room - getting a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, our rooms' windows were facing the nightclub right by the hotel. The walls were already thumping in the evening but the real party didn't start until 3am and lasted until closing time at 5am. Carisle turns out to be the party capital of the country as I haven't seen many livelier parties on a Monday night. The real shame is that this could've easily been prevented by just giving us different rooms - the hotel wasn't busy at all and I'm completely sure the staff are aware of their loud neighbours.

Solo travelers with dogs should avoid this hotel. It claims to be dog friendly but when you check in you are only then told you cannot leave your dog unattended in the room for any length of time.

This policy might be fine for couples or families who can pop out individually to run errands but when you are on your own it means you are unable to go to the supermarket around the corner for more dog food / emergency paracetamol etc. It also means you are forced to eat at sit down eateries rather than grabbing a sandwich from Tesco etc escalating the price of your trip significantly. As a recent widow this was a very unwelcome reminder of how much more difficult companies can make your life when they design their services purely for people who have the luxury of partners and families to support them.

The staff who took my complaint at first issued a standard computer says no response. The experience was made worse when the employee at the front desk took a haughty tone and told me 'we're not a kennel'. I explained that popping to the shop to get some more dog food - again difficult to carry enough when you are on your own - was hardly comparable to leaving my dog all day and night unattended as it would be in a kennel. I was then accused of wanting to ditch my dog 'are you telling me you wouldn't be gone for hours?'

I couldn't muster a verbal response to this accusation as anyone who loves their dog as I do wants them around as much as possible. It was pointless getting into it.

Ibis Carlisle were happy to take an additional £10 per night for the "dog friendly" service but would not accommodate my needs as a solo traveler one iota. To ambush guests with additional terms and conditions on check in is terrible. Their "pet policy" should be made clear before booking.

I had to book two last minute hotels due to their lack of transparency (more expense). Both hotels thought the Ibis pet policy laughable. So the good news is there are many other places in Carlisle that are happy to support solo travelers with pets. Ibis is one to avoid if you are in the same predicament as me. After the worst check in experience I've ever had at a difficult time, I won't be booking ever again. The one star is for the swift refund I received.

Honestly, apart from the friendliness of the staff and the convenient location, this was a really disappointing stay in a chain that is usually very reliable. Room was one of the worst I've ever stayed in, dark, old, smelly and hot. Whilst, I don't think it was actually dirty it certainly felt and looked dirty with dark stained carpet and marked walls. No coffee available for our second morning's breakfast.

Just stayed this weekend, everything was fab. lovely, truly professional staff . I asked for something special and probably a little unusual and they sorted it no problem. We left very happy ???? will definitely go again ????.

Clean and functional which is what you expect from an IBIS. We stayed here (a family of 4 split across 2 rooms) on the way up and way back from a trip to Scotland. It is close to a night club so on the Friday night it was a bit noisy but not that bad. Monday night was fine.

Charger in the car park run by Podpoint is a bit hit and miss. Side B works but side A doesn't seem to. But there are other chargers nearby (and there are loads of rapid chargers at Gretna).

First time at Carlisle Ibis for work.
Located in the noisiest street in the City, yet I enjoyed the quietest, most comfortable night in a lovely double bed. A sensible shower with simple controls in a functional bathroom.
Plentiful buffet breakfast with suprising options.
