The Academy like most educational places in Scotland had its ups and downs. During my 6 years of attending schools here, I can easily say it had one of the most supportive Tech departments. Staff in their were great and guided me to where I am today but I can’t say much the same for other departments within the school, I received a very unfortunate events in the English department, were you almost felt belittled, one of the people I attended school with was forcefully removed from the department due to them thinking he isn’t ready to take the next level up, I will add to the fact that parents must be informed about this and overall the parents have the right to get the final say but they weren’t for listening. Overall I would say it was a bumpy 6 years and sadly the place just isn’t as greatly funded.

The teachers do the best they can with what they have, they always went above and beyond the call of duty to support and help students. The teachers a shining example for the young minds to help mold them into responsible upstanding adults or give them a point of reference on how to be. Looks like recently the school has gotten a big makeover and is looking a lot better than the brick and mortar days.

At the start of my time at Auchenharvie I will admit I had no interest in school at all but now coming to the end of S6 I can happily admit that this school switched me about. Most staff are friendly and helpful in supporting the pupils apart from one teacher. The technical subject staff are great and have supported me throughout my years here.

Attended many years ago. Met some of the best teachers who inspired life-long learning and discipline. Wish I could do it all again.

Had the misfortune of attending this school, disgustingly underfunded with a lot of less than reputable staff, hopefully given recent events the staffing gets shaken up for the first time in years.
