Such a fantastic experience. Lived in Leigh for over 13 years but experienced some fantastic new sights and learned some really interesting facts on our trip! My son was lucky enough to steer the boat and learn about navigation etc. we can’t wait to come back for another trip! Angus is full of local knowledge and makes the trip really fun and informative!

What a wonderful afternoon we had on our trip from Leigh to the Red Towers. The weather wasn't good, but the welcome was very warm.
The boat is very well equipped with state of the art navigation and safety equipment. Angus spent a lot of time explaining how the radar works and the shipping lanes. Was really interesting. We saw many Essex landmarks and a few seals too.
We are looking forward to taking another trip in June.

First trip with Brownes Thames Estuary Boating this weekend. Fantastic experience all round. My husband, myself and our 5 year old had the best morning travelling from Old Leigh and out to Southend, where we got amazing views of the pier and the El Galeon. Angus is incredibly knowledgeable and very welcoming to everybody onboard. We would definitely like to book another trip in the near future and would highly recommend to anybody.
My little one got a turn steering the boat and was thrilled, she said it made her half term!

An amazing and unique experience visiting the Red Sands Maunsell Forts. Angus is a brilliant organiser and Skipper who makes sure you are well informed and looked after. Highly recommend.

Awesome trip on the Daisy Margaret with Angus. We toured round Leigh on Sea area and up Hadleigh Ray which was amazing. Angus was extremely helpful and provided great communication during the booking process and on the day and made the trip perfect. Can highly recommend.

A* from start to finish. Great communication at point of booking and we received comprehensive info prior to our trip re what to expect and what to bring/wear etc. We were met by Angus and Starfish in the boatyard at Leigh on Sea, boarded with our family including a 5 and 2 year old. From the off we felt very safe in Angus’s care having received a safety briefing and children strapped in their life jackets. I would throughly recommend this trip, we booked a private tour for 1.5 hours up to the pier, on to Mulberry Harbour and back. No seals unfortunately they were hiding, we did look with the binoculars, we’ll have to try again another day. The children were totally engaged, with so much to take in and enjoy. Angus is happy to share his knowledge of the area, the river and sailing. It was a perfect day. Great memories made!

I arranged a scattering of my parents ashes with Angus at Brownes Thames Estuary boat trips and found Angus very accommodating in helping me with tailoring a trip to my specifications and come the day of the trip Angus excelled my expectations. He is very personable and clearly loves his job and aims to please and who can't fault a five star service and especially in the current economic climate. Angus even went to the level of keeping the restaurant chef on to wait for us and to book us a table at the Leigh on Sea marina. Well done Angus and a big thank you for making a day very special and very rememberable.

When visiting the area, I arranged a boat excursion with Angus Browne for me and my husband on the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed! We went out for two hours on Starfish, a small diesel-engine boat. Angus was so friendly and took a reassuring safety-first approach. The itinerary was very much tailored to our preferences within the scope of the tides as the Thames Estuary has a particularly temperamental tidal range. We were able to take out camping chairs provided on the boat and sit back with our binoculars (a must!) taking in the scenery. We went up close to the end of Southend Pier, while Angus talked about the history of the pier and the range of the tides. There are lots of interesting seabirds to spot and, occasionally seals, but we didn't get lucky this time. Angus suggested we take a look at a couple of shipwrecks out in the estuary, going a significant way out since conditions were unexpectedly good on the day. He spent a lot of time with the engine idling to allow us to take photos and tell us the stories behind the wrecks. Considering he'd just had a cancellation worth £200 he really did go above and beyond, spending more time than scheduled with us. He just really enjoys being out on the water and can tell you anything you want to know about all the points of interest around the estuary. If we'd had more time, given the tides we'd also have loved to see Two Tree Island, a haven for birds and other wildlife, but you can also see this on foot. We had a wonderful time, it was the highlight of our time in Southend / Leigh-on-Sea.
