My parents go to this place when they visit on the weekends and I went for the first time today.

Full 5???? from all of us, they've been numerous times and always been happy with the portions, the quality and the service.

The young lady who was serving us remembered the drinks and meals even down to the dips they ordered separately which is impressive!

The meals we ordered were incredible, a large mixed grill which could feed a small family but was smashed off slowly but surely. The surf and turf was delicious, fresh and full of flavour. I opted for a vegan stack burger with extra fried onions and cheese, all stayed together and tasted really good!

Really good selection of ales and ciders, all served by one lady with a big smile; highly recommend! Well done to all, brilliant establishment!

Also the doggy dinner for £2.50 is a great idea and means we can all enjoy a meal out together!

Found the place on Google maps and decided to give it a go- so glad we did! It has a lovely atmosphere inside and the girl serving was really canny. Amazing that it's so dog friendly and they even have a dog dinner you can buy! The food was lush and a great sized portions. 10/10 would recommend and a 5* from the dogs too!

Great pub food at reasonable price. This is a great no-frills child/dog friendly pub for holiday makers camping or caravaning nearby. Lose ti the sea and playpark. Lots if parking spaces available when we arrived (Monday in the early evening). Extensive menu of meals and snacks. The bar staff are cheerful and friendly and the food was served promptly. Impressive portion sizes.

We visited this place for a Sunday carvery and what a pleasant surprise. We hadn't booked but they managed to find us a table. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant area is clean, pleasent and comfortable. The food well prepared and presented. You tell the serving staff what you wanted and the portions are very generous, belly busters is what we call it. There are four meats to choose from also very generous portions. There's a standard price for the carvery and for our two and two soft drinks it came to £20 which is very competitive in today's prices. They serve food 7 days a week. There's ample easy parking, table benches out side and what makes this an ideal place for families is the large play park around the back of the pub.we enjoyed our meal so much so we booked for the next Sunday. This place is on the A52 at Huttoft. A well earned five star. Also for you dog lovers it's very dog friendly even do doggy meals. 1st June 23 we called in for a roast and were greeted with a warm welcome. The food, service, and especially the price were really excellent and worth the five gold star rating. Will use again.

Can honestly say this was the best food I've had locally for quite some time. Great welcome from Sara, made us feel right at home. Had a fish sharing platter to start, and it was light and very well presented, and the squid was perfectly cooked. Between the 3 of us we had Fish Pie, Hunters Chicken, and the Vegan Cottage Pie. Everything was piping hot, well presented and above all, delicious. The menu choices were plentiful and varied, with there being the best choice of vegan and vegetarian options I've seen locally. The prices are also very reasonable. I would highly recommend a visit here for food, and we will certainly be back again soon.

Staying in the area for a weeks holiday and came across the axe and cleaver. Decided to give it a try as we needed somewhere that could provide something gluten free and found that they had a separate menu just for people who cannot eat gluten which was a real bonus. We were really surprised what we found. Food was great, service was great, very friendly and at very reasonable prices and our dog was made very welcome as well - everything we wanted. We have now been back every day since. Well done axe and cleaver - great job !!

Great meal a must go place the hunters chicken was proper chicken the garlic mushrooms was just as they should be my compliments to the chef ????

A lovely pub. The food is excellent and the service is second to none. They was very welcoming to our dogs. Made a big fuss of the 3 of them and dog treats. The serving sizes were generous and delicious. I had a steak and could cut it with a normal knife.
