A truly beautiful nature reserve. Great for walking and exploring. To get to the more scenic routes with streams you will need to have a good grip as uneven rocky surface if you want to get really close. Great scenery and routes for cycling as well.

A removed retreat from the busy roads and suburbs near Rochdale. It was October, so the paths were less stable and more muddy, but forests like these really are pretty the whole year round!
The cafe was quiet, however their food is worth the journey; the decor and cleanliness shows how much they care about good service.
A great place to take the family away from it all for two hours, and the tracks are perfect for beginner hikers.

Lovely place to walk just outside Rochdale, lots of little waterfalls to enjoy and a great little tea room at the start of the walk. Car parking is free but the road surface in the car park is very uneven. You can even walk right down to the water's edge to get a great view of the viaduct... Worth a visit

Photos where taken following the old railway path from Whitworth towards Rochdale.

It is a beautiful walk, with amazing views especially the bridge which allows you to see the vast valley below.

I do wish there was more wild flowers and more animals though, as you only see birds and sometimes the odd deer, would love to see more wildlife all around.

A lovely viaduct over a valley with flowing rivers and waterfalls, this place is heavenly and steeped in history. This was once a former railway line
