I had a sudden severe attack of gout but had run out of medication. Rang the medical centre for an urgent prescription only one hour before it closed. The staff on reception were extremely helpful and said they would try to get it signed off the same day. The GP delivered. Thank you so much

Book appointments only to get there (6 weeks later) to be told we couldn’t be seen. Took time off work and arranged for kids to be off school. A simple courtesy call would have helped.

Alison, the receptionist, thinks she runs the place but is completely incapable of passing on accurate messages, to the point of creating friction between patients and intended recipients. The best way to get passed her is to Google Beauchief Medical Practice and select the consultation button and send a message - they are only visible to the GP's and they're really good at staying on top of them and getting in touch within a couple of hours. Alison's job could soon be obsolete.

Moved to this doctors since moving to the area about 5 years ago. I have had nothing but bad experience after bad experience. From lack of care/gaslighting. Cancelling appointments on the day which I’ve waited 2 weeks for. Losing blood samples so having to go back in and take more time off work and saying they’ll refer me for further tests at the hospital and never doing so. Many times I leave symptoms because I know this doctors will not response proactively.

I haven’t had a good experience with this surgery from the get go, so I have just moved to another one. When arranging phone appointments I would specifically ask for calls before work and they would still call me during work. They refused to do blood tests that had been requested by a hospital department in Manchester and had the cheek to tell me to go to Manchester to get them done. They had me waste my time sending me for a blood draw on 3 occasions to then not perform all the bloods that had been requested, saying I would have to go for a third appointment just for them to agree to adding the bloods to the system again (that were missed due to their error). Nobody should have to battle like this to have tests done when we are the patients and we are the ones dealing with symptoms on a daily basis. Really bad experience unfortunately. The doctors here seem so reluctant to arrange tests and just tick boxes offering a textbook and band aid approach rather than a root cause approach for the individual patient.

I can’t praise this surgery enough. I contacted them regarding a bit of (I assume) uncommon request regarding my daughter. From the off, the Dr who called me was supportive, encouraging and above all helpful. She reviewed my case and referred it on to the local trust to pursue. When the trust replied unfavourably, my Dr determinedly challenged and the case was reopened for further review. Finally, the treatment has been authorised. My daughter wouldn’t be receiving this treatment without the tireless help from my Dr and this surgery. It would have been easy for them to just close the case and leave it but the Dr and the Surgery were fantastic. I think it’s important we give positive reward and recognition - so thank you so VERY MUCH for enabling this treatment to go ahead.

You are a fantastic surgery of doctors, which offers the most personal care.

Really helpful and caring staff that help get you the treatment you need. When I require post operation care the staff were efficient in providing me with regular appointments and prescriptions, and it was always easy to book appointments in advance. I've heard others having issues during busy periods of getting appointments, but I've personally not had any problems at all with it. Well done guys and keep up the good work.
