It saddens me to submit any negative review, but this place failed to deliver on so many levels.

I'd been here a long time ago when the table prep and service was professional, the ambience inviting, and food quite delicious

Fast forward to now, and all was very dismal by comparison as well as poor value for money.

Little attention to detail (ugly menu, no spoons provided, no water offered), zero ambience (poor lighting, constant takeaway phone within earshot, cliched Chinese music played too high), slow service (ignored for the most part), and very bland tasteless food (which also had little visual appeal).

If things get so bad that a business fails to care about what it does, it should really get out of it and hand over the reins to someone who does ASAP.

Very disappointing.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal at the Golden Palace, Oxted today. The staff were very helpful, and friendly. We did not have the buffet, Eat as much as you like for £15.50. We decided to have all our favourites from the main menu, which was really enjoyable. Great to find another Chinese restaurant that is open on a Sunday lunch time, from 12.00 - 3.30pm. We have no hesitation in recommending this lovely restaurant, and will be returning!

We haven't visited the Golden Palace since before lockdown and we weren't disappointed with our visit on Sunday for our wedding anniversary.
The food is freshly cooked to order. The starters and prawn crackers were delicious followed by the duck, the sauce was strangely thick and the cucumber had dried slightly though which is why I only gave 4 stars. The chilli beef could have been a little more crispy to my liking if I were to be fussy. The selection of mains were a good variety and very tasty.
On the whole we had a wonderful dinner that was reasonably priced.
Thank you for a lovely evening Golden Palace! We will be back!

Great helpful staff, great food. Our friend has a problem with swallowing due to illness and staff were helpful and understanding even offering recommendations for ease of eating. Highly recommended

Avoid, avoid, avoid!!! I’ve seen the reviews regarding the poor customer service and sloppy service, but as it is local, just used for takeaway, but today will be the last!!

The last time I ordered, I paid an extra £1 for broccoli in the rice. Quite steep, but an easy way to increase my greens intake. When I got home, no broccoli. I called back and the woman on the phone was quite rude/didn’t really care. She said the next time I ordered, I could get the broccoli and not pay (obviously!!!). Went to the store today to order and was told, I had collected the free broccoli “two or three times”! I haven’t been to the store in about 4-6 months!! She then walked off and proceeded to talk to her colleague in her language. An older colleague then came and just sat at the front desk in silence. I walked out. I truly am not going to argue over £1, but THE BROCCOLI WAS NEVER GIVEN IN THE FIRST PLACE. It’s a real shame there isn’t 0 stars. Terrible customer service and food is average at best. Never again!!

Good food, decent portions, predictable prices. Couldn't fault the food, and portion size was definitely above average. Slightly pricey, but Chinese food always is. Cosy atmosphere in the restaurant. All in all, very good.

Booked a table for 2 in advance for Sat eve, but when we arrived on time the table had been taken and out booking overlooked. We waited for a while, but with no sign of a table left. I advise other customers to be careful when booking at the Golden Palace as their system doesn't seem to work too well.

Large selection, delicious food. Unfortunately, the vegetables were a bit too large
