Great hotel, Clive and his wife made us very welcome, "Madges" breakfasts are fabulous as is the steak pie. Wow. Clive moved us from front room to delightful quiet room to the rear, no problem, very welcoming, - 4 weary Scarfell Pike climbers from Cambridge.

After a long hike up Scarfel Pike we popped in to get some food as not very many places to get food in the area

Staff were very friendly and food was top notch, generous and tasty.

A real hidden gem.

We walked down from Studdabank farms Glamping pods, only went in for 1 drink, ended up having several, the landlady Debbie and a few regulars, Robin & Mick made us feel very welcome, its Dog friendly too, even he got some special attention in the form of Dog treats and big bowl of cold water.
We'll call in again the next time we visit Studdabank farm.

After trying to find an open takeaway near egremont I stumbled on this gem . Friendly spot just like walking into the home of a friend. I did have an initial reservation as it reminded me of a working mens club when I spotted the chairs. But any reservation was outweighed by the friendly staff, customers and the lovely food.
I am often looking for places to stay near Egremont and following this visit would put stanley arms at the top of my list next time. And I only wish we had tried more of the food than we did.

Basic pub menu starting at around £13.
Well cooked meals, chef kindly stayed on to fit us in when he should have finished at 8pm so we were very grateful.

Nice experience. We only went in for a drink after our walk. Good welcoming, and my dog got a little biscuit.

Everything were amazing. From the welcome at the reception to the farewell. It was more than a visit it was an experience.
And of course the delicious food. I suggest it to anyone.

Great spot to stop off for a drink in the beer garden. Owners were very welcoming.
