Punctuality and communication are two mainstays of good customer service. We were booked on a 45 minute 'coastal shock' tour as a gift, and the confirmation email said to arrive fifteen minutes before departure. This is fair enough, it's important to be early to appointments so we were there 30 minutes ahead of the departure time in case there were any issues.

When we arrived (departure time 10:45, arrival time on the email 10:30, arrived 10:15), the sign outside said there were no tours that day. Curious.
We waited and were joined by others who also had bookings at 10:45, and as the clock ticked and it got closer to 10:45 no-one was there. I checked in with the person who'd made the booking for me (as I said, it was a gift so I had no contact details), who phoned and was met with an answerphone. Googling the business showed that they didn't open until eleven. There was a lot of confusion all round!

Eventually (10:50) the boat arrived and we hurriedly got our life jackets on and departed to catch the lock. To be honest the actual tour was great fun, I'd highly recommend it and wished that the channel was a bit rougher than it was on our day. For the tour itself, bear in mind that it'll be windy and you'll get wet, so you'll want to wear warmer clothes than you might expect. If it's sunny, wear suncream as it's easier to burn on the water.

However the confusion at the start did make it a bit sour. It would have been so easy to have sent a message to the booking e-mail addresses to say things were running late, or set a message on the answerphone to advise waiting, or even for the captain to have sent a message to one of the many other boat tour people to relay to us to advise us of a wait. Or to have just set off sooner so as to have arrived early.

By all means I'd recommend the tour, but don't expect things to run to time, and don't expect to be told if things are running late.

Such a cool experience, the staff at the front desk and the boat skipper were all great fun, looked and sounded like they loved this job! We took the 25 minute boat blast, you get a couple of minutes blasting full speed, swerving and having a good time either way, as well as a gentle cruise through Penarth bay. I would recommend the short cruise to anyone who has a bit of spare time and wants to give it a try!

Fantastic energising team, who took me and my partner over to Flat Holm Island for the day. fun was on the top of the agenda, but safety was there before it. Great fast boats and a very well organised trip. Thank you to the team for a wonderful day.

Very disappointed. Always loved the speed boat rides with Cardiff sea safaris....this does not compare in any way. A little acceleration across the bay for 2 minutes then so slow down Ely river (no idea why they go there) the water bus faster. Old boat. If you are looking for a thrill ride, don't book.

If your looking for a really fun fast boat this is not the boat to go on we booked a 25 minute boat ride it lasted about 15-20 mins and the name shockwave makes you think it’s really fast but you do that really fast fun for 2 minutes in total and for the rest of the time you go extremely slow doing nothing but looking at a river I would not recommend going on it if you want to have fun and go fast for the whole time you booked for. (Extra information: to expensive 6 people costed 78 pounds for 20 minutes and it was not even good)

Shocking.! Arrived today with 2 young Children excited to go on the boat. They put our life jackets on and took us down to the boat. Got told 1 of the children are to small to ride we told him we checked his height on your website before booking and he’s tall enough and they turned around and said that’s for the other boat that’s not here today this one he’s to small for. Asked for a refund and got told it’ll take 30 days to reach your account. What refund takes 30 days to reach your account?
More to the point though to get them with there life jackets on and get them within inches of going on the boat to say no was hugely disappointing. Change your height rules if your just going to disappoint people. Would not recommend. What a way to spoil a day
