What an absolute gem. Staying just one night at this fabulous hotel. Sadly I am here for a short one night stopover as I am working in the area. But so far this hotel is ticking all the boxes, greeting during check in was pleasant and staff engaging and welcoming. The room is sumptuous, clean and well equipped (apart from a wet bathroom floor, I think water leaking around the shower screen) and very comfortable, with iron, iron board, hair dryer, very pleasant shower gel/ shampoo, and decor decent. The bar and restaurant area well presented, clean, tidy and welcoming. Dinner chosen from the specials menu, was prepared and delivered to a very high standard, complements to the chef who obviously has a passion for delivering fine food cooked to a very high standard. With parking to the rear of the property, and perfectly located in the heart of the Lake District, you really can’t go wrong with this one.

Great location, clean rooms. Has snooker table, table tennis and swimming pool available. Could hear the music from the breakfast area in the room and got woken up by it, but the manager was helpful about it. Most staff very friendly.

We stayed here for the weekend and it was exceptionally pleasant experience. The hotel location is amazing, neat to the lake as well as many hiking trails, and the view from the room was very nice. Rooms are quite large and clean.

The staff were just brilliant, very welcoming and friendly. (Especially Louise, sorry if I’m spelling your name wrong).

The food was also very good. We had both breakfast and dinner there, delicious!

Highly recommended and definitely coming back again.

Staff great.. food good. Rooms were the biggest issue for me. Walls paper thin and inconsiderate neighbours with the TV on loud until midnight. Beds are uncomfortable and pillows lumpy. I hate to moan, but more thought should be put into providing a TV in the room when the rooms are so audibly connected. Pool okay.. sauna broken which was another blow

We stayed two nights b&b here. It's a nice hotel which looks recently renovated with a nice bar. It also has a nice outdoor seating area for drink and food though menu is a bit limited if you don't want pizza. The pizzas were excellent though!
Had a full breakfast the first morning which was barely lukewarm when served, the bacon was hard and stuck together and the scrambled egg & beans had a skin on it as if it all seemed to have been keeping warm waiting to be served. The tomato was so dehydrated it was just recognisable! Breakfast was better the second morning!

Called on a busy Saturday night so you don't expect rapidly fast service. Food ordered for 3 of us and it arrived in decent time but I wish they'd taken a bit longer over m food. My fish and chips were greasier than a beach after an oil spill. For the money I paid out for the food I expected far better. Then I was chastised by the bar staff for sitting in the foyer and ordering food because other people followed my example but there was nowhere else to sit and there weren't any signs saying that we couldn't order food whilst sat in this specific area.

The staff was amazing, in particular Carly. She helped made my stay incredible and special. I would happily return. Great location to top it off.

Booked this 3 star hotel for our wedding anniversary through Booking. Com. Awful ???? Arrived at reception to be rudely told by the hotel manager that check in was in the bar downstairs, could we not read the big sign! Bar & Restaurant we’re smelly and dirty, the room offered was not clean and smelt of stale sweat, with a nice personal hair on the bedspread and stains on the carpet. At £260 per night this place is a total rip off. We walked! Avoid at all costs. Terrible ????
