Lovely area for young children to swim, play, and build sand castles. Toilets within 2 minutes walk. Beach restaurants selling coffee, teas, etc. Fish and chips restaurant next door selling all you would want from a seaside restaurant.

Like this place! Lagoon and Children's Playground make this part of the beach family-friendly so it is easy to stay there for the whole day in summer. Water is warmer than in a sea. Basic facilities are available nearby. Highly recommended particularly, because of the close distance to London (around 1 hour by train)

A great place to go for all ages. We enjoy our time here in summer and in winter.

Overpriced food burgers frozen and dips expensive. McDonald's would work out cheaper.

The only sandy place is Southend On Sea. It's a small Lagoon especially for kids and it's about 1 m deep

The lagoon has a horrible stench full of seaweed and rubbish very polluted and flip flops will be lost in the lagoon due to the large amount of seaweed at the bottom . Lagoon needs a good clean but the sea is great , pretty cold though , it’s nice and close to a theme park and free shower and bathroom
