Sympathetic renovation to historic buildings, authentic and genuine, very good museum displays and information, great value as one ticket gets you into all the museums, limited F&B, plenty of parking, exterior access to all buildings so very hot in the summer, a little tricky to find given the location in old Dubai, a great experience for anyone wanting to learn about the history of Dubai. Photos are of the perfume musem

Al Shindagha Museum is a fantastic destination for anyone interested in the rich history and culture of the UAE. The museum is located in Dubai's historic Al Shindagha district and offers a fascinating glimpse into the country's past.
What makes history beautiful is the way we celebrate it. And that's exactly how this place does it. The guide was amazingly courteous and informed. The displays are gorgeous and the location mesmerizing. There are 14 houses around which you can explore and almost in every one there is guidance. Everyone were extremely nice and helpful, also really interesting to listen to. There are all kinds of free workshops. Whole museum is extremely interactional so even the kids will enjoy it. Amidst all the billboards and the glitz and glam, it can be easy to forget that there was life in Dubai before Starbucks. If you are at all interested in the culture and history of Dubai or the UAE, you should visit this museum. One of the most educational places in Dubai apart from the museum of the future. You learn everything about how Dubai came into existence and where the future is going. A worth a visit experience where your 2 to 3 hours are spent without knowing when it went away, had a wonderful experience going through different houses with each having its own theme and still left some due to time constraints.

I’m sure a lot of tourists would not have seen this magnificent beauty. This is Al Shindagha Museum. Unlike other ordinary museums, this one has about 15 homes and each have a brief story to tell. Starting from the the details of Bur Dubai and Creek, it takes you through the culture, civilisation, livelihood, trade and globalisation. Interesting fact was one house which belonged to the princess a few years back and now was converted into beautiful museum house.
