I'm a parent of a former resident and if I could give this place no stars I would. My daughter has been charged for a blackout blind replacement which wasn't itemised and so they've charged a fortune (£175) for two tiny holes. It's a scam. We were sent another tenant's bill for £282, for guess what - a blackout blind! (Great data protection btw) Please everyone, photograph your blinds when moving in!

Very bad accommodation experience. Unreasonable charges and no corresponding service. Little service by staff; Big security risks, there is no 24-hour security service; It is also very inconvenient to take delivery after shopping online. There is no superfast Internet; It can be difficult to sleep late at night because of loud noises and bad smells. Everything is so bad!

£1050 a month for no fridge/freezer space, the smallest oven you’ve ever seen, £15 for one laundry cycle with barely functioning machines, a mini landfill right outside the accommodation, parking but your car will get clamped if you park there, the intercom system doesn’t work and you’ll get shouted at if you try to collect your parcel outside of the 1 hour slot excluding weekends (so good luck if you work) and delivery drivers are treated very poorly!

This is the best accommodation for students in Stirling, with beautiful environment and everything being easily accessible. The rooms are so spacious and filled with all the facilities and amazing team who tries to provide best customer experience. They have a very beautiful social space to hang out with friends with alot of games and study spaces for quite study.

TL;DR: Riverside Quay has not refunded my money even after 64 days after cancellation when they said it would be refunded in 28 days. One of the worst support teams offering no information and not responding to any calls, or emails since months.

Here’s the long version. I had applied for a studio apartment at Riverside Quay but an apartment was never allocated to me. I had to cancel as I was about to travel to the UK but had no confirmation of an apartment was being allocated or not. I was told I would receive a refund in 28 days but it’s been 64 days now, more than double the said period but I am yet to receive my refund. I must have called hundreds of times and sent multiple emails but got no response from them when I had applied. As I was going to reach UK in a couple of weeks I was desperate to know if I was going to have a place to stay but they never picked my calls nor responded to any emails. For reference, I was travelling on 30th August and cancelled my application on 29th because there was no response from them. Was very stressed wondering if I’ll have a place to live. I was forced to look for another apartment as there was no response from them. Luckily I got another apartment just a day before I left which is when I decided to cancel the application and they were quick to respond to that.

The staff at Riverside Quay have washed their hands off now saying it’s not a site issue so they can’t help with the refund and they have forwarded it to the accounts department without sharing any information on how to reach them. I emailed the customer care email ID, submitted the contact us form on their website multiple times and have been chasing them since a very long time and I still haven’t received any response whatsoever. My guess is they don’t refund any amount for cancellations. They were quick to respond to the cancellation email while other emails and calls were ignored. I have seen other reviews here that mention they haven’t received refunds as well after cancellation so clearly there’s a pattern. I may be wrong but the least they can do is to respond to emails and let us know if there are any challenges in refunding the money. I also saw on Twitter people complaining that they haven’t got their deposits back. Ripping off students is not the way to go!!! Especially for international students like me, it’s a huge amount considering currency conversion. I wish I could take some legal action but not sure how to go about it as I’m not from the UK. No one should go through the pain and desperation of not knowing whether or not you would have a place to live when you land. I am so glad I found another student accommodation in Stirling else I would have had no place to stay and that could have cancelled all my plans to travel to the UK to study, which was my dream.

Do not choose this place if you need peace of mind knowing if you will have a place to stay, if you need to get your money back, or for any kind of support as their customer care support seems to be the worst.

I canceled my booking and the deposit refund was supposed to be transferred for me within up to 20 days. 29 days passed, and till now I didn’t receive my refund.
I have tried to call them on their number many times to ask about the refund, but it’s busy all the time. When I leave my number to call me back, nobody contacts me.

Riverside Quay is the perfect student accommodation! With amazing facilities, spacious modern rooms and super friendly on site staff its really great for taking the next step into independent living. There's social spaces and events hosted to make friends and meet new people (and some very well stocked vending machines!) I can't recommend it enough if you're looking for a place to make home!
