I am a Filipino and I am trying different nationalities food. I am eating samosa, pakhora, paratha, chana daal, white roast, chicken curry, beef kurma, papadam, gulab jamon, shawarma, chai karak and many more.
Biryani is one of the food that I crave but mostly it is from Calicut bec. its not too oily but not also dry like other biryani from other restaurant.
-Food from Calicut is almost perfect to my tastebuds , sometimes its just very spicy or too much masalla.
-Service is ok, staff will ask you if all is ok or you need something more, but sometimes if too much customer your order will come late so make sure to go there when its not rush.
-Atmosphere is ok, its just normal temp. Inside the restaurant. When eating i dont like it too much cold cause the food will get cold quickly????Food is good when it is hot.

I love too eat in Calicut Notebook atlesst 3 times a month as it is far here in Baniyas Deira, I hope you will make your branch here in Baniyas.

Very good restaurant overall. The soup was very good. Malbari paratha was very good. Butter paneer was exceptional. The malbari curry was decent. The service was out of this world. Very friendly staff and quick service. They also gave a free passion fruit juice. Highly recommended.

Tasty Kerala food. Nice ambience and cleanliness, service was also good. The menu was well covered. Value for the money and got a decent parking. May be in dessert section they can improve but still deserve a full rating.

They have a very fancy menu !!!

We were happy to see they charge for starters per piece .

When we ordered 1 piece each of 4 different starters the waiter said we dont serve by piece we only serve by portion !!!

Then we ask him then why did you mention in the menu the price per piece . For our surprise he said thats the price exluding vat !!!!
Lol !!!
We asked him again if u are telling the truth . He became angry and didnt take our order and he left ..
Then afte 2 minutes another person seemingly the manager of the restaurant took our order and he gave single piece each starter. Chicken and prawns skewers .

Some times its just 1 employee bringing bad name for the restaurant .. So try to correct them
. We were happy with the manager as he constantly came and checked if we are satisfied with the food

Now coming on to taste ... Starters were awesome. Fish curry we ordered was average !!!
tandoori chicken was good ❤️

Was gonna give 3 rating ... But for the efforts of the manager to keep us satisfied giving 4 stars

An interesting experience with unique preparations. The free starter was a pleasant experience, a green leaf you add Roasted coconut chunks, honey, peanuts, onion, ginger spicy red chilly, all surprisingly tasty!
Nice food, great service!

I always love the Fish tawa from Calicut notebook. Incase if I am in Deira on a lunch time Calicut notebook is my preference. And in the old days they had Pazhassi murukku which was a kind of unique starters which I seen only here.

One of my favourite restaurant in Dubai. Pathiri is one of my favourite dish. Because its vey thin and it just like home made. Parking is free but its little far from the restaurant. After 10PM parking is free in front of the restaurant. Staffs are very good and its recommend for families.

Restaurant ambience is very good.. spacious, The samovar tea and soup given was like cool drink, the middle portion of the appam was uncooked.The vegetarian side dishes was not up to the mark. When we told the supplier he just listened and ignored.
very disappointed.
