Great walk! Looks ideal for mountain bikes. We made it all the way up to the cairn pushing a 4 wheel pram. Was a bit tough in places due to tree roots but is doable. Highly recommend.

Good set of trails and skills area.

Both the blues and the red have a long slog to the top but the climb is well worth it in all cases except the Gordzilla trail.

Parking is only £2 but coin only.

Blue trails.

The Haggis is a cracking run, mostly single track bringing you back out above 2 of the other 3 runs.
The Gordzilla has one good burm feature about 1/4 of three way down, but is mostly fire track and would not bother with it.
Dragons tail and Soup Dragon are a the easiest trails, but still fun and the calmer features allows for a puck up in speed even on the 1st run.

Red trail.

Long climb with a couple of points that you think you have reached the top only to find out it keeps going up around the corner. But it's well worth it, a cracking long decent with a good mix of all the key features you want to see on a trail and even a bit of a bridge that makes you feel like you gave done some north shore. The lower 1/2 is fast and rooty making me glad I was on a full sus.

Skills.

Nice set of runs that match the technical ability of the trails, though the number of drop offs is not matched on the trails.

Overall a good way to spend a short day or afternoon, but give the Gordzilla a miss.

Great place for all the family wether your taking in trails by bike or with a leisurely walk. Take a picnic have ia the very top where you can see for miles

There is a walk or bike ride for all levels of fitness within Fochabers Winding Walks. The blue route is the one we usually follow. An even gradient all the way to the Cairn or Pyramid as my children call it. There's a nice picnic stop by the lake and if you choose the wider cycle paths rather than the winding walks paths the journey takes a bit less time than the scheduled 2 hours. The view from the Cairn is fantastic on a clear day, you can see for miles. Ranalds Grave on the way is an added history bonus. The car park is pay and display so take a few pound coins with you

So many lovely walks up in these woods beyond Sanquar pond. We'll worth exploring for the scenery and wildlife.

Absolutly stunning walk. Nice forest views, easy paths and every here and there a breath taking view to the sea and surrounding villages.

We took the blue route which was supposed to be a two hour hike, but I think we missed a post sign or something because we walked the route in a hour. And because we didn’t want to leave this beautiful forest we decided to walk the red route aswell. Which took us another hour.

The paths are really accesible and easy to walk on. At some points you share the walk path with mountainbikers, but that’s not a problem.

Don’t forget to walk the Winding Walks!!

Great first visit and doggy chops loved it. Will certainly visit again and recommended for fresh air and to relax. Walking boots a must.
