Sooo over priced for absolutely terrible quality food and the service by the Prema Dona sergeant major owner was incredibly rude to say the least! Sadly he I think actually believes HIS OWN publicity!! He firstly desperately needs a crash course in customer service then equally a crash course in cooking simple fried food! We STUPIDLY thought we would give them another try but AGAIN the food served up was substandard and in part totally inedible!! The supposed Pizza offering was cooked to an absolute cinder! Looked more like burnt toast or even the darkest ginger bread I’ve ever seen but solid and hard. I and no one in my family were prepared to risk our treasured teeth on attempting to bite into this burnt offering! His response when I phoned was less than acceptable to say the least! I took it into his shop to show him and he actually said that it was a perfectly fried Pizza! I said ok give it back to me and I will take it to trading standard and see what their response was but of course he refused to give it back as he WELL knew that it was totally unacceptable and trading standards would have 100 percent agreed with my complaint! It’s BEYOND my understanding HOW on this earth he has been awarded certificates for food excellence, it’s an absolute mystery in fact to say the least!! Obviously WE WONT BE BACK ???? only reason he survives is that it’s mostly passing trade! Not returning trade like most small towns!! Who would return to that shop for such poor service and poor quality food?? A 1 star is really too much for this joke of a fast food fish and chip shop !!

We, family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young kids) visited, the sit in bit of the fish and chips eatery on Sat April 22. The three of us chose fish and chips ( as you do at fish and chips bar) except for my 4 year old who opted for nuggets. The food was disappointing and not great at all. The fish was greasy with thick batter and the chips were leathery and felt they have been sitting around in the take-way next door for while. Which is a shame as you expect to have fresh chips served if you opt for a sit in option at elevated price. The mushy peas had so much vinegar in it and made them truly inedible. There was no bread available either and he served a roll from the chippy next door. The nuggets meal was also not great. And on top of that the prices were high. I found it strange why the guys serving us did not suggest a kids version of the nuggets when we chose our food but was happy to charge an adult portion at over £13 ! I think the whole experience was way too overpriced, with little value for customer. A pricey meal out for a family and definitely not tasty enough. I don't recommend the sit in version. Maybe take-way option next door is better , not sure. The only good bit - the decor was nice with lovely place mats on the tables and the toilet. Clean, lovely with nice towels for hand drying.

I was at this fish and chip shop today, i recommend it alot ???? Fish was fresh, man at the counter was very friendly. I'm very satisfied, we ate our fresh fish and chips at the river side. Definitely back here for a Sunday super.

Brilliant little chippy! Lovely and friendly service. Chips were grease free, the battered haggis and mushrooms and lovely. We had deep fried cream egg and it was to die for (that's what my heart is saying too ????).. Highly recommend this lovely fish bar in such a picturesque setting

Quite a disappointment, given what we'd heard about the place. The service was pleasant and efficient, despite it being quite busy. (We had ~ a 10 min wait, which was reasonable for the number of orders they were serving.) I could see some items being cooked to order, which is encouraging, but the disappointment for me was the chips. They were chewy, as if they'd been sitting around for an age. No better than mediocre pub chips. A real shame.

Absolutely wonderful experience. We were just going to stop for a take away fish supper, but the little dining room looked so great we decided to eat in. Excellent customer service and a very friendly atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our delicious fish suppers with homemade Tartar sauce, a piping hot pot of strong tea and a deep fried Mars bar to finish. Couldn’t fault the place and I’ll definitely be back!

Was not impressed at all the chips were very overcooked to the point of crisp which might appeal to some people but not me. Didn't really like having to wait out on the street for 15 minutes until it was ready either all in all edible but half the chips went into the bin won't be back not for me I'm afraid

Arrived late in the area due to work & they were nearly closed …. The food however was delicious & the staff , management were so nice & friendly. Freshly cooked food and not expensive. Brilliant experience to start the trip away. 10/10 definitely recommend.
