Room was booked on the afternoon of our stay, we were working and needed somewhere to stay on our way back home to North Wales. Arrived just after 8pm to find we had been given a free room upgrade! Fantastic room with a sofa to sit and chill out n relax. Just a shame we arrived so late as didn't have time to explore the area. Food was lovely & all the staff friendly and helpful. We will be back for a few nights stay and hopefully next year too for our wedding anniversary

Customers travelling alone who need a table for one for dinner are going to be your least demanding and quickest customers. They’re not going to have complex orders or want to stay long. Pulling a disgruntled look when one of us walks in, then turning us away despite lots of empty tables shows a degree of contempt that is more than worthy of a one star review.

This place is daylight robbery.
Ordered a chicken Caesar salad and at nearly £19 I was expecting more than a few leaves, four croutons, dry over salted chicken and some shavings.

The obligatory service charge I wouldn’t have minded if the staff had taken our order without us chasing them, or not giving us cutlery for our meals. Being asked to pay before we had even eaten was weird, felt like we couldn’t order anything else and weren’t welcomed.

Toilets. Not clean at all! Smells like a disgusting toilet block that’s not been cleaned in a few months.

Now home, telling everyone not to eat. Dirty and rank.

Don't turn your customers away saying it's fully booked... Kindly direct them to the Fish and Chip shop next door (same business!) if that's what they want to eat. We came earlier and we're told booking was not necessary. When we came back the place was fully booked, we mentioned fish and chip as option for us and the kids and we were not directed to the shop nearby by your member of staff. We then realised that the Fish and Chip is under the same name and they had plenty of availability and free tables. Food there was great.

Were there for a lunch. After the menu was handed to us they completely ignored us. One employee walked by four times and said nothing. Then she took her pen and book and served a couple behind us that sat there for 2 seconds. Got the feeling they were not keen on tourists.

We stood up and walked away. Very bad experience. We went over to Mortons a bit further in this street; great food, great service. Friendly employees.

Great hotel. This was a last minute booking as the hotel we had booked let us down very badly. The staff were great and very attentive, but Gabriel was amazing. We booked a superior double and it was large and very quite. We ate in the restaurant and the food was pub grub but very well made. Breakfast in the morning was also very good. Will be staying here again next time we pass this way. Would definitely recommend

Booked a table in advance. Well served by Adam who was attentive without being overbearing. Good food, good service and nicely priced. Nice to see the positive changes made to the back of the restaurant too. Gents toilet could go with a "w
ee " makeover!!! Otherwise great!!

Love Mckays.

I used to live and work on Pitlochry in the worse time for hospitality workers, during covid.

On my days off and after hiking around the town or after work, I used to come to Mckays for a nice meals and cider, and enjoy my time on the terrace, so I brought my family to have the same good times that I used to enjoy.
