There have been two receptionists every time I've visited but they are extremely busy with phone calls and admin. So sometimes you have to wait a while to check in. So allow time before your appointment just in case. But also, once, I waited for 40 minutes after my allotted time to be called in. So a 5 minute appointment could potentially cost you an hour. Without traveling time.
Saying that, the doctors and specifically the nurse have always been extremely compassionate and helpful. Willing to explain and answer any questions

I feel that they are really trying to implement lots of positive changes. I have found the practice nurse to be amazing. On line prescription re ordering service very easy to use, and my recent medication review good too - with sound advice given. I rarely have to see a Dr as happy with support from practice nurses, but I accept all needs are different.

My medication is always delayed where I'm always having to chase it, despite dropping request in a week before i run out of meds. Happens almost every month and nobody takes responsibility l.Reception staff couldn't care less. No duty of care to patients. Totally disorg

Absolutely appalling service. I’ve had this happen to me twice now on separate occasions; when I try to explain to the Gp my list of symptoms, it appears they just want to quickly get rid of you and move on to the next patient by coming across impatient and abrupt. It seems they only focus on one symptom at a time, so you have to keep going back and make another appointment to be seen for something different, but caused by the same illness. Furthermore, you are given a telephone consultation only to be told you need to make another appointment to be seen in person. What a nightmare. I despair!

Appalling service. I had to endlessly chase to get an appointment as they never pick up the phone and when I do gain an appointment they cancel it. When explaining that I am working parent and the alternative appointments offered was not suitable, the staff expressed a judgmental opinions towards me with their comments “ whats the priority”?.
Additionally I asked to speak to the practice manager and staff presented to be the manager on the phone. The overall customer service was appalling and total disgrace to the profession.
For experiencing this awful service and being judged, I removed my child from being a patient of their’s.

Absolutely dire ! You could be caller number 1 in the queue and still be on hold for well over 45 minutes and not get through so don’t hold your breath in getting an appointment, or results back…. I’ve been trying to get my results for over three weeks now and today I gave up. The practice is shocking ! You won’t see the same regular doctor either, they seem to have issues keeping the same doctors at the practice so you’ll never get to know your doctor and vice verser which in my eyes is unprofessional ! They won’t medicate you how you need, they’ll medicate you how they WANT, longing out procedures, wasting everyone’s time not just patients. The Queensway is better and so is st Luke’s and that says something. Avoid the practice like the plague as getting in contact with them for anything is literally impossible !

I have been with Northumberland for 6 months and both me and my 17-month old daughter have received good treatment. Staff members are always polite and helpful, doctors know what they are talking about. Before I was with Eastwood Group practice and the difference is huge!

The only downside is that sometimes it takes ages to get through because the line is busy, but it’s everywhere like this.

So I can highly recommend them and hope they keep up the good work.

Really impressed by the service based on two appointments I’ve had. Receptionist friendly and helpful (not my experience at other practices in the past), I managed to book appointments without drama for not too long away, both nurses I saw were super friendly. Thanks for the great service despite the fact you’re working with/ in an NHS that seems to be underfunded and under resourced at present.
