A bit of a trek to get to but once there it's all you can ask for. Lovley cafe with panoramic views and loads of things to discover both in and around the castle.

Nice Castle With an exposition, a restaurant and some souvenirs to buy. An ideal place to start a trek or to take a brake

Lovely cliff walks with a range of birds to watch. Back to the café for a warm up and lunch. Steep paths so not for the faint hearted.

We were pleasantly surprised when we visited Durlston Castle. The entrance is free and there was an exhibition about the fossils and dinosaur discoveries, which we found very interesting. The views were stunning and the castle has a café that serves drinks, cakes and lunch. There is a trail from Swanage that takes you there, and then you can follow the sw coastal path towards the lighthouse and the dancing ledge. There are also buses running to and from Swanage to the castle. A place worth visiting!

This is my new favourite place to go, the walk is lovely, the views and astonishing and the cafe is wonderful! The staff are very friendly and the park rangers put a lot of effort into their jobs.

We walked to the castle from Broad Road car park by the Prince Albert Gardens in Swanage and the walk itself was really nice. It takes you along the SW coast path and just before you get to the castle it joins the Isle of Wight Road, along which there is lots to see and do for adults and children and great for dog walks, too. We just walked along there last weekend, Jan 2022 and it looked like a lot of work had been done, part of the dry stone walls looked new and the play equipment along the way, too. I liked all the little spots with nicely crafted wooden benches and seats to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. All really well made and done!
The castle itself is really nice, with a cafe, a little shop, a gallery and very interesting displays. The views from the castle are amazing and with lots of benches around the castle, you can enjoy these whilst sitting down and relaxing. Overall we really enjoyed our walk to the castle and the castle itself and will definitely visit again when we next visit Swanage.
The castle is also dog friendly.

Durlston Castle walk is beautiful and pretty much straight walk. It has a relaxation area somewhere in between with hammocks and swing. Best part ????
