Gohan,is located inside the La Cantine, is a speakeasy/ Japanese restaurant/ bar.
But it’s got quite a few low dining tables along with a few high ones, giving is a restaurant vibe once you enter.
Thé menu is élaborâte, quite a few interesting things, loved the small plates/ appetizers & raw selection. Simultaneously the short ribs and the Chilean sea bass was brillant. I enjoyed the variation they’ve created to the traditional dishes.

Here’s a list of things we had:-

Hamachi Ngiri ( love it )
Homemade pickles ( was so good )
Salmon Sashimi ( a safe order/fresh)
Wagyu Tataki( very impressive)
BBQ Lamb ribs ( loved these )
Beef Cheese Kushiyaki ( star dish )
Chicken Gyoza ( can be missed )
Chilean Seabass ( oh so good !)
Spicy Tuna Maki ( absolutely brilliant)
Wings Wagyu Truffle (shouldn’t be missed)
Triple Creme Brulee ( cute portions )
Innocent Shiso Julep ( excellent mocktail)

I would suggest to make sure you’ve reservations. And go for dinner it’s a vibe !

A pleasant speakeasy type restaurant with good vibes and food. Some dishes better than others and quite pricey for what you get. Service could be improved as they were quite pushy on upselling rather than curating your experience.

Hello ????
Anothe great location hidden gem in the heart of Dubai - DIFC area.
The place is a unique rare to find similar atmosphere in the region.
I rated 3 stars for 2 main factors the price and portions.
The taste is exceptional for one of the dishes I tried - steak ???? attached picture. And the tacos were very good.
I would go there again for the experience and for very selected items.
The dessert is not exciting.
Staff were amazing ????????????

Great service, music and overall vibe, but you need to be very selective in food choices. Sashimi and rolls were okay, fantastic octopus to die for, but the rest of the food was below average ( didnt like the chicken with beef on top, the eggs and the curry fish)

Gohan a know hidden gem at Emirates Tower. If you enter from La Cantine, then it is through the hidden mirror like going you're emerge in Tokyo dive bar. If you enter from Emirates tower side then is usual enterence. Of course, I chose the former than the latter ????

The Amber lighting set the mood and tone of what is to come. SHOT OUT Great value for money business lunch menu is well worth the detour for.

The food is of the izakaya style of Japanese cuisine. Food sharing is a must! Highlight: Hamachi Cappacrio, Seabass Tempura, Crispy Shitake Salad, Mushroom Claypot rice

Will go back for more

Gohan is a new Japanese restaurant developed by the same team behind la cantine du faubourg (the restaurant door is actually located in La cantine so make sure you head there :))

Food:
There is a good selection of food to choose from and we only ordered the sushi and small bites (portions were made for only 2 people), overall everything we ordered was really good, the nigiris were my favorite!

Service:
All the waiters were very nice, I think the management still needs time to adjust, we would have waiters come asking if we ordered yet while we were already in our third meal & took a while to get our bill.

Ambience:
We really enjoyed the place, there are lots of options of seating additionally they have a private room Incase you want some privacy

Overall, it’s a nice addition and would go back with friends and try other dishes

We chose this restaurant for a birthday celebration and it did not meet our expectations at all. The fish was smelling and not fresh, the meat was very chewy. The quantities of all dishes were extremely small compared to the price.

For this type of restaurants/ and the price you pay for an average of a dinner it was not worth it compared to other restaurants.

Service could improve as they were quite pushy and trying to up- sell all the time.

The place was literally empty (we were the only table of guests) although we were told that we cannot come earlier than 10 pm because everything was fully booked.

I would definitely not go again and not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends.

Too much buzz/ average service!
We visited this hidden Japanese resto on a Thursday night. The hostesses team of LaCantine was polite and welcoming.
The place wasn’t full and the staff was running like crazy adding a stressful experience to our dinner. I asked for the bill at the end from 4 different waiters and the 5th brought the bill to the table. Service needs to be taken care off immediately! Food:
We ordered 7-8 dishes and the food was tasty but it was lacking the necessary techniques that you see in other Japanese restaurants or Japanese influenced restos like Clap, Zuma, Coya or Amazonico.
Being just hidden do not justify the buzz and the hype around this new comer restaurant in DIFC.
