Hemam Learning Difficulties Center

The first therapist who worked with my child was too tough. I wasn't too happy with that as I prefer a more compassionate approach with children. My kid kept crying and running away everyday from her. And I was glad when she left the Centre. The second therapist however was lovely and kind.

Hemam prices are a bit high (compared to other centres in Dubai) and the approach is too clinical. When my kid was doing well, the school recommended a regression plan to teach my child independence. Unfortunately, Hemam do not support regression plans so you must have the LSA full time and your kids hooked. The administration tone (a little harsh in my opinion) changed with me when I insisted on a regression plan for my child who was doing so well. I kept hearing from them how my child behaviour will deteriorate the moment I stop their plan and how I will regret it. This is not a professional way to deal with a parent.

I no longer require an LSA and my kid is doing wonderfully. And this has taught me that a parent is the one who has the child's best interest at heart not a business. In future, I will not deal with any centre that is too business / money focused more than a child's best interest.

They have professional team of social therapists working within the school. The programs are well supervised and implemented which is very helpful for children with determination and autism.
