Unexpectedly fantastic experience. Great mixture of new growth and ancient trees in the woodlands, small ponds populated with lots of insect and amphibian life, lucky enough to see a forked hawk and bullfinch pairs. Butterflies and bumblebees everywhere. Wee lad loved the sculptures, overall excellent 1.5hr adventure.

A 1.7-mile easy hike. The trail does travel down the hillside and returns towards the end, so if you're not accustomed to hiking, then consider allotting at least 1.15 hours. The trail is about two persons wide and at least two bridges crossing over water. The surface of the trail is a mix between smooth and slightly bumpy. Several wood sculptures dot the trail. Be on the lookout for them as they can be hiding.

*A specialized wheelchair for outdoor use can do at least some of this trail,
depending on its ability to descend and accent hills.
* A 9 person van can easily access the trailhead. Even small RVs.

Nice trail to have a walk - with 2.6km it is rather short. Still nice to explore the woods here. And we lived close by so why not checking it out ????????

An amazing little walk, great to keep kids occupied finding all the carvings plus my niece was delighted to find frog spawn to take home ???? easy walk and well pathed! The Broch at the end was another piece of magic to find!

Really enjoyable walk around some pretty woodland, made nicer by the blue sky and sunshine of a crisp autumnal morning. (And just for D Crombie who feels it needs to be pointed out: It's not suitable for pushchairs. It's a woodland walk which the Forestry Commission regard as 'strenuous'). Anybody reasonably fit (without a pushchair) will be fine. I went the wrong way around (anticlockwise) but that didn't make a difference. If you need to break your journey up the A9 and want to stretch your legs, then do it here.

Nice walk but wish someone stated that its not suitable for prams due to the steps and bridge

A lovely walk, lots of hidden wooden carvings to spot. Lots of history.
