Took our 3 year old and she was amazed at all the sights and sounds.
She loves the animal tent where she got to touch and see up close various farm animals. The couple with the pat ponies were so lovely and spent a while with Julia and us on the Friday chatting and gave her a lolly and colouring (which is now proudly on her wall). She loves the goats and feeding them cabbage.
The food stalls were not massively overpriced. We were robbed at the fairground rides but happy to pay for a happy little girl.
Next year I think we will definitely camp and make a full weekend of it as I don't think we really got to take it half of it. It's absolutely MASSIVE. And I loved that the engines etc were moving around. It made it so much more interesting and Interactive than looking at stationery vehicles.
It'll be on our calendar every year.

The coach drop off point was approximately 100yards away from the main fair in a huge field. This is a new venue for this event since COVID. The ground is slightly uneven, which I had to negotiate with care, as I have reduced mobility. However, I saw wheel chair users and people on mobility scooters making their way with no apparent difficulty.
There are numerous original steam engines which have been amazingly restored and most can be seen actually working. Indeed you can take short trips on a couple providing you can fit into the small box trailer!
There were a wide variety of stalls with an emphasis on artisan crafts such as walking sticks , garden paraphernalia, reed woven hats and artisan cider ( at £5 a pint, I only had one!
There was a falconry display and I was able to see these beautiful birds at rest in their enclosure and talk to their keepers. One can purchase a Falconry experience.
What I found most striking was a motor cycle display involving children and adolescents on miniature cycles jumping over ramps and through rings of fire. I was more worried than their parents!
There are also temporary toilets on the site as well as a tea tent and bar tent.
It is worth noting that I explored about 50%
of the grounds. I saw quite a few people carrying folding camp chairs.
