We walked to this pub from Irstead Staithe. It took about 40 minutes through lovely countryside. The pub was on the main road through the village; we decided to sit outside in the courtyard to have our lunch. We chose battered fish finger sandwiches with double fried chips ( I think...they were bloody lovely!). My husband bought me one of the pubs' own spirit with lemonade. The pub landlord then came out with another of their gins for us to try. It was glorious. The food was excellent and the staff were really friendly. Let's just say we walked back to the boat with big smiles on our faces.

Such a lovely pub, great beers, great staff and the pub is really nice. Could see this being lovely in the summer time as well.
4 stars due to 2 meals not being as wanted. My char grilled burger was very dry, the burger could snap and tatsed too chared.
Halloumi fries were the best though and the 2 pies eatten were also great.
Would come again as hopefully was just an off day for the burger.

Great to have the thirds of a pint so you can have a good taste, and the footy toilets are great fun.

Popped in for a pub lunch on the way back from the beach. I had fish and chips, my wife had a hog flatbread. Both were excellent. Friendly staff, and they even brought water and treats for our dog. Highly recommended!

This was an excellent place to have lunch. The pub looks very nice inside, especially upstairs where we ate.

The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The man who served us was very knowledgeable about the menu and was happy to make recommendations. He also knew what a pie was, which is more than can be said for other pubs nearby.

The food here was amazing and my entire group really seemed to enjoy their meals. I would definitely come back if I'm ever back in the area.

Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the person who served us but he did a really good job and made us feel very welcome.

We were recommended this fine eatery by a family member and boy were we not disappointed.
We hadn't booked but were soon escorted to a table up on the mezanine by a friendly waitress named Holly. My husband had lots of questions regarding the beer selection which Holly was able to answer with great knowledge.
Our orders were taken swiftly and food arrived in good time.
We could not fault our experience, the staff were all super friendly and efficient and food was superb *****????????

Excellent pub. Not only beautiful to look at but serves great food and the service is extremely good and at a reasonable price. It deserves its good reputation. Wish it was my local!

A beautiful pub, lovely location. Kind staff (above and beyond), amazing locally sourced food. Interesting local beers. Love it!

Lovely food and staff and really dog friendly. Went twice during our holiday and really enjoyed ourselves. On the second visit there was an agressive dog in the pub but the staff quickly managed it. Will be back.
