Nice park with some great improvements over the last 10 years. Used to be pretty grotty in places, but now the flower beds are glorious, the new playground is good and the lake is well maintained.

I recently visited Central Park Chelmsford and was thoroughly impressed by all the amenities available. The playground was great for my kids and the sports fields and skatepark provided plenty of entertainment for older children and adults. The walking paths were well-maintained and provided a lovely stroll through the park. There are also plenty of benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the park, making it a great spot for a family outing or a picnic with friends. The only downside was that the parking lot was quite small, but I was able to find a spot after a short wait. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Central Park Chelmsford!

Lovey area to walk around in, nice little central café to grab something to eat and drink. Lots of directions to have a look around, field spaces for football and rugby, I have also heard that there are events here from time to time so that’s something I’ll defiantly check out next time

My friend and I decided to go and have a picnic in this park. It was kept incredibly well, stunning flowers, scenic view of the train bridge, etc. I would recommend this however, the public toilets are the only thing that lets this place down, so perhaps bring some sanitising wipes. Overall, a great place to sit in the sun and enjoy a cheeky people watch.

A really spacious park slap bang in the centre of town. Lovely trees, flower beds, kids play areas, skate boarding ramps, a lake with fountains, a river running along one side and a Cafe to name but a few attractions. It was a sunny Sunday when I was there along with many others enjoying the fresh air. There are plenty of benches to sit and take a rest, although many groups were sat on the grass eating picnics or ice creams or just soaking up the sunshine. I will definitely add this to my list of "nice walking places". I remember going here when I was a child and later as a teenager when the Chelmsford Carnival Fair was held there. Special memories for me in Central Park.

Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a photographer, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Central park has something to offer for everyone.

As per the name Central Park is right in the centre of Chelmsford and is a very large lovely park space perfect for couple, families etc.

In the main part near the town centre there is a large children’s play area as well as a large lake with ducks, and a nearby café with plenty of outdoor seating. It is very well kept with lovely flower beds in the section near the back of Primark and has a separate cycle lane in that park away from walkers.

In the area near M&S there is a picnic area, a war memorial and lovely war memorial related benches to sit on (see photos). In the summer months there is nearly always an ice-cream van right at the end of the park by M&S.

Also in the summer months festivals, carnivals, funfairs and other entertainment take place on the large area near the roundabout (near the duck pond).

If you walk through Central Park you’ll find it links up with Admirals Park/Tower Gardens and provides a park walk all the way from the town centre by M&S right through Admirals Park and on to Writtle. Great place to have a circular 10k+ walk.
