I had a peaceful and satisfying experience during my stay at Mikey Stays. The location is excellent, being situated close to the metro station, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. I highly recommend choosing Mikey Stays for your stay in the area.

Fantastic museum, high volume of information and artifacts from the wars. Plenty of children's activities from colouring, to playing dress up and toys. The team are extremely friendly and have made a great effort for entertainment for all.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good exhibits. Very hands on for children. Clean toilets on site. Interesting videos about different aspects of the civil war. Great dressing up opportunities. Easy to find and short stay car park only 2 mins walk.

Really worthwhile visit to get a good understanding of the English Civil War and also the importance of Newark. Good for families and those with an interest in the Civil War. Great welcome and well laid out. Palace Theatre cafe accessible from the museum.

National Civil War Centre - Newark Museum is a museum as the place says, it is the history of Newark on Trent city, you can bring your kids around. You need to pay at the front entrance. There is a disabled car park next to the museum.

This museum is excellent, the displays are well maintained, easily legible signage and fascinating exhibits.

I feel like there could be more about this history of Newark outside of the civil war period. But what is there is brilliant.

The Newark torc is well worth the visit! But the phial of Charles the Firsts blood is most definitely my favourite thing here.

I only wish this museum was bigger! I could spend all day here.

Not been here since I was a kid, walking into town with my kid and father to see what's going on with book festival, I thought there was something on at the museum, we walked in to be greeted by 2 desks far apart, one with a lady one with a man, no indication of which one we should approach, my father approached the gentleman and I started to follow only for the lady to exclaim " er excuse me can I help you" I turn to see the lady looking at us like we were something stuck to the bottom of her shoe, I explained we were here to look around, she still looking at us with a disgusted expression tells me the museum is closed, and only open for book festival stuff, I said great it's the book festival stuff we wanna see, again rudely and in a voice that suggests I'm wasting her time she tells me it's not here..... (That makes sense, they're open for stuff that isn't there) she offered no more information, I told her she was a very rude woman and left, I have no intention of ever returning, I don't know why people who are so rude work in customer facing roles

Good museum. We had downloaded the audio tour to our phones in advance and that was good. Enjoyed the film. There was a great practical talk on how to load and fire a matchload musket. Nice friendly staff.
