For a free castle, it's a good find. Doesn't take long to walk round but a nice place to let kids run about and have a picnic. Free parking helps too

Beautiful area of Northumberland and grounds this fantastic castle ruins are sat in. Well worth a stop and look around. One of may I've had on my list. Glad I've been a seen it for my self as none of the photo do it justice.

The is free to visit and park, its only small but worth a walk round, lovely little village.

It's a ruined castle so what more can you expect!? Nice photo opportunities around the castle, however the exhibition and shop are currently closed. There's really not that much to see. If you've seen one ruined castle then...

Four stars for the castle itself as there isn't a great deal to see, just some ruins. But the surrounding area is excellent ! Best way to visit the castle is to take the little steam train from Hetherslaw Mill to Etal station. Then spend some time in the picturesque village with its pub and tearooms - well worth a visit.

Due to covid the museum part was closed,however what ruins remain are quite impressive & give you an idea of how it looked. Good information boards dotted around with plenty of information. A few tables & benches for you to use. Parking on site but also behind village hall a short stroll away.
